"We better enjoy what we have, while we have it........things are changing rapidly."
Which is exactly why I sold my 4runner and ordered the 392. In my mind, I've ordered This:

For the third month in a row, ALL dealer stock allocations have been 4xe only across all states – gas has been sold-order only.
There’s a chance that may go through until end of year – and if it doesn’t the CARB states will still be 4xe only for lot-stocking either way

Sold Orders are the way to go if you’re looking for gas Wranglers!

That's for dealer stock only - we can order gas specifically for customers, which is the majority of our Jeep business for MD anyway :)
Little bumps in the road regarding 2.0L availability but not the end of the world.

I don’t see what the problem is. You can still get what you want, and now dealers are going to have a harder time price gouging on the more desirable vehicles.
I guess you don't have any friends in Europe? Do you? Luckily we are like 10 years behind them with EV junk here in the US. They don't have any options anymore as of now. In many countries you cannot get any brand new gas powered vehicle anymore as only hybrids and ev appliances are available. Also, even though gas prices are (and always have been) outrageous in Europe it is now cheaper to drive a gas car than an ev. And yes, ev charging used to be free there. If you don't see what the problem is, open your eyes before it's too late.

Got plenty of friends in Europe. This country would do well to be more like them instead of living like a bunch of dumb knuckle dragging Neanderthals. But my point is that neither Jeep nor Biden is forcing anyone to buy an EV Jeep. You know what, it’s not the end of the world, your heritage isn’t being ripped away from you, your family isn’t being assimilated, this isn’t Hitler Germany, you’re not getting your freedom taken away, we aren’t any less America because of it, like some people are acting on here about it. It’s just a friggin car and just a business decision Jeep made about dealer stock. If some idiot wanders onto a dealer lot to browse and has no idea what they want, Jeep has decided their first choice may as well be a hybrid.

I really want to know if there were "Well you can take this horse and buggy from my cold dead hands" guys out there 100 years ago or if this is a new thing. I love my 392 but I'm not going to be that guy if/when times change and I need to drive something else. Like @Sulley said, it's a car. I don't get my identity from it.

100 years ago the governments were not forcing or bribing people to switch from horses to cars. Cars were simply superior hence people moved towards them.

Here is the thing. 10-15 years ago there were two leaders in automotive industry - European manufacturers and the American ones. China was decades and decades behind them as they had no technology, engineers, background or anything that would allow them to build any reasonable gas powered cars. It was simply too complex to them. All they could do was to buy licenses or steal them. The only way for them to catch up was to force the new start and make a reset. Ideally with the technology/resources they have and control. So that the US and Europe would loose their advantage. All they had to do was to find the way to achieve that. Fast forward to 2023 and whether you like it or not they are the leaders now. They produce and design cars, not gas powered but the EVs. They are controlling the market and supply chains. If you don't believe that you had a demo of that in 2020. To the point that European brands, like BMW design their cars strictly for Chinese customers as now they sell more cars in China alone than in the US and Europe combined. Why do you think new BMWs have now small funky headlights and huge grills? Well, because this is what Chinese customers like. Problem is these guys are not our friends by any stretch of imagination. And we are feeding them. So yes, I do care and it matters to me. I also appreciate my freedom and the fact that I can go pretty much anywhere with my gas powered car and any lockdown won't stop me. I hope that's not the case but I'm afraid our President (no matter who he is) is not the most powerful person anymore. Corporations and guys like musk are, and they play cards. This is where Chinese car industry has been not that long ago:

I can't help but laugh when the same people that get upset at "Big government!!!" for telling them what they can do are also perfectly fine with the government telling women what they can do with their body, what people can choose to dress and present themselves as, and what books can be read in schools. Do you consider those things government overreach or is it just the stuff that inconveniences you personally?

All of that is overreach. The government is way too involved in our lives.

Really? This is your argument? Do you realize how ignorant and nihilistic this sounds?

It wasn't me who brought "horses and buggies" into the table here.

Such a statement is nothing but loaded language with no real meaning. All it does it express some emotion you have about government. Have you thought about it? Can you write me an essay about how our government has over reached more than other governments that are better off than ours? or cite me a study showing how better governments in other countries yielded a better result? All you are doing is expressing some obscure frustration you have about government doing something you disagree with, and hyperbolizing it into an infringement on your freedom, when in reality there is no such thing going on here. This is the kind of talk you should save for buddies on arfcom, not a Jeep forum.

I just can’t believe we’re having such a stupid conversation about hybrids. The world wasn’t ready for the Internet.

Pull a horse onto I-10 and let me know how that works out for you.
Hop in any EC and take a 2000 mile trip and let me know how that works out for you......

I spent time testing a Porsche Turbo Taycan for a friend. Fit and finish was light years better than the Tesla. Both have ZERO soul. Cold weather battery usage S U C K S

Comes down to choice......as long as we have a choice....CAFE Standards are a MANDATE...blame anyone about that , that makes you feel good......Ironically, the hardest to obtain Jeep is also the most profitable Jeep .......pipeline of EV production is tremendous with a plethora or new models coming.......yet the EV USA 2023 sales YTD flatlined at 7.5% instead of the mid 20's as projected. EV inventory is at a record level in the USA.....but more is coming....The sky is falling. Ford shuttered their EV truck plant for 6 weeks....then dropped the price $10k due to excessive USA inventory....and is losing $4.5 billion this year alone on EV's,,,,,,,,atta boy....

If you love EV's and they work for you ....great ....buy and enjoy. Freedom of choice.

I'll never buy a pure EV.......ever,ever,ever....Never. My choice.....I'll rebuild my ICE stuff if pushed. Gasoline Stations are not going away in the next 15 -20 years......too many ICE engines in the network for that to happen....

I just hope that we all have the choices available to buy what we want.....but that does not look promising.

Really? How about you step down off that high horse.

Your statements above are exactly the same.... just your opinion that you've hyperbolized. No more and no less. Pot, kettle. Kettle, pot.

And to answer your question, although it was not posed to me:

Yes, I've thought about it. Yes I can articulate it, and I can give examples of our own government when we were better off.

Pretty much everything you've espoused above can be refuted... easily. The bottom line is that the government has mandated what manufacturers can and cannot make, and that directly affects our choices.

If you are so fond of the European model, then why not just leave this one to us "knuckle-dragging Neanderthals" and move yourself over there? We'd be better off without your baseless opinions and "screw-you" attitude, but you won't like it as much as you think you will. But you won't, and you know that, but it's easy to pretend that it's better.
