Hi all,

Has anyone installed the NVM fenders yet?

I'm reconsidering splitting my factory fenders with Quaker leds and getting these instead to fit the lift and 38s I'm currently planning.

Curious how you like them from an anesthetic and functional perspective plus if ypu ordered them powdercoated or had it done locally.

Thanks!

They are very nice, I considered them seriously last year. But In PA wheel poke is illegal, so I decided to stick with the stock fenders with the XR fender flares.

Ever since I saw those fenders on the Easter Safari concept jeeps—Magneto and Low Down—I’ve been waiting for them to be released to production. I know Jeep may never make it real for consumers.

I heard how PA is very strict. Pretty funny though when I go to AOAA and see all the Jeeps with serious poke lol.

On NJ they are not strict on that so I'm good to go. Maybe I'll start with the split stocker fenders and go NVM once I hit one of them on a rock or tree😆

Those concept fenders are very nice 👌

Not that strict in my area :), like window tint. Honest I like the way the stock fenders look with the inner liner. I haven’t yet found any aftermarket fenders with liner.

I just had a set of Next Venture fenders installed. They will give you tons of tire clearance and make 40s look small. Even using stock length 392 XR front bump stops I am nowhere close to tire rub with 40s. This is just a teaser indoor picture. The shop is still finishing up installation of a CB and GMRS radio, and I should get the Jeep back tomorrow night. I will take some outdoor pictures over the weekend.

I just had this same conversation with the shop I use yesterday.

Good luck with the quake drl my passenger side lasted 6 months. Switched to Infinite offroad drl, seen them on Dirt road cred YouTube. Good so far and actually have decent warranty

That looks really good. Even from this picture you can see how much clearance you have.

Whats the backspacing on your wheels? 3.5"? Looks like you also gained a bit of poke.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check out Infinite offroad DRL as well should I go with stock fenders and split them, though right now I'm about 50/50 to go with NVM instead :)

Wheels are 17x9 with a -12 offset. The widest point of the NV front flares is 5/8" narrower than the same spot on stock flares that don't have the XR extensions. I had the XR extensions, so I gained about 1 3/4" of tire poke.

The wheels I'm looking at are 17x9 with -38mm offset so I'll have to take the 5/8inch narrower setup of the NVMs.

Thanks!

Undecided for the current rig but on my previous JLURD, I went with spllit fender with Metalcloak lights and American Adventure Lab inner fenders. Will most likely go down the same path for the current rig at a later time. Never ran into any issues with any of the parts. The inner fenders paid itself off several times with the ease of removal and reinstall.

Here are some pictures of my NVM fender flares and inner fender panels. I am running a 4 1/2 Metalcloak lift and 40x13.50R-17 Toyo MTs mounted on Method 703 Bead Grip wheels that are 17x9 with a -12 offset. I am running the stock 392 XR front bumpstops and have no tire rub at full articulation and no rub on the control arm or frame at full steering lock. Rear bumpstops are extended 1 1/2", with no tire rub.

Thanks for the pictures. Yeah, they look really good in black, which is what I was thinking for my orange Jeep.

It's funny how 40s start looking small after a few weeks of having then.

I did the fender chop with Quake and haven't had any issues but I will probably add fenders at some point. More than likely, color matched Motobilt.

Looks awesome...and pretty tall now!!

Have a few questions if you don't mind:

1. What front bumper is that?
2. How much trimming did you have done on the rear wheel well pinch seams?
3. Any trimming in the front?
4. How is the steering onroad?
5. How is the steering g offroad aired down ?

Man...this forum is not good for me. Here I'm thinking 38/13.50/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers with KMC 235 Crawl Grenades at 17x9 and -38mm offset will work best with my setup but now...those 40s....lol.

Any issues with the stock fenders. chopped with the Quake leds (my other option under consideration) causing you to consider the Motobilt fenders?

No issues at all. I trimmed a tad off pinch seams in back and lengthened the front LCA a tad and it's fine. I'm just on a 3.5" lift.

I'm really happy with how this all turned out. I do a fair amount of rock crawling, but more often I am exploring in the desert. The 4 1/2" springs give me more up travel for higher speed use and allow the shocks to be right in the middle of available up and down travel while at ride height. The King shocks were custom tuned for my Jeep with 40s and a weight of 6500 lbs, by Accutune, and they nailed the valving spot on. It rides fantastic, even better than the Fox DSC shocks I got from Accutune for the prior 2 1/2 " lift. I have the Apex steering boost kit and cooler installed. Steering offroad feels the same with 40s as it did with 37s. Steering onroad also feels the same, with no vagueness, wander or shimmy. I do have a Metalcloak tie rod, drag link, and trackbar, and Dynatrac ball joints. The tires balanced out perfectly and there is NO driveline vibration up to the local speed limit of 80 mph.

Front bumper is Next Venture stubby aluminum bumper, along with their skid plate and mounting kit for the amber Baja Design lights behind the skid plate.

For the rear pinch seems, trim every bit off of them that you can without getting into the double wall portion of the body tub.

No trimming in front, with stock XR bumpstop length.
