I had left on a work trip and left my 392 parked at the office. That night a hail storm came through with golf ball and bigger hail. I am taking it Friday to get the initial estimate done.

I hate it when that happens.

My son actually took advantage of hail damage recently though. He just bought a Chevy Camaro with very low miles and no problems other than hail damage similar to yours. The car had a clear title, not a salvage title, but he paid 1/3 the price of what the same Camaro without hail damage would have been on NADA. So, a super good deal for him. He doesn't mind the hail damage. I personally think that with that car it makes it look pretty mean, like a street fighter that can't be killed.

Anyway, sorry to hear of your bad luck. Probably won't buff out though.

After watching several videos of Cybertruck bulletproof door panels, I really wish our 392s would have the same materials…

Sorry for the damage, sucks.

I had 11K in damage from hail last year. The SOT was fine. My hood looked like a golf ball, thought for sure I would have an ornament for my garage when they replaced it… Turned out, the The PDR guys did a great job.

:ROFLMAO: boy this is the last thing I would want to hear as OP on my 90k jeep

392 in non bulletproof stainless steel exoskeleton woud be absolutely insane. Reality is though the weight would be a massive problem. Doors off would become a full commitment like SOT top off is lol

Jeep should use Fiberglass Hood like the Class 8 trucks have, I have went thru some baseball size hail in Colorado, no damage at all to the hood, aluminum cab didn't do well though...

Hopefully won't be too expensive to get fixed. On another note, for me trying to keep something perfect is frustrating because it is a losing battle. My 2013 JK, I ripped the front fender off on a trail and dented the rear fender something terrible. Ended up drilling a hole in the inner fender and using a heat gun on the outer fender and stuck a piece of rebar in the inner hole and pushed the outer fender back straight. Was not perfect by any means, but you couldn't tell unless you looked fairly close. The hood doesn't look terrible unless you look closer. Battle scars don't have to be the end of the world unless we are trying to have a show vehicle. Mine has some rock chips (minor) and fine scratches on the soft top windows.

My dad's recommendation in order to avoid the anxiety about keeping something perfect was to buy something brand new and then beat it with a chain real good. Then it was already beat up and you didn't have the futile struggle to keep it perfect.

Of course, we've never actually beat things with a chain, but I don't sweat trying to keep my stuff perfect either. Little bit of battle damage is par for the course.......until it comes time to sell it. Then I might pretty it up :)

I agree 100%. I bent my stock steel rear bumper up into the body on the Rubicon Trail last fall. I replaced the stock bumper with a better aftermarket bumper, but you can still see the ding in the body that the stock bumper made. It is easily noticeable if you know where to look, so at least I don't have to worry about keeping it perfect anymore.

Quote came in at $3700. The only body part getting replaced is the hood. Everything else they are going to pop out. Insurance is covering all but my $500 deductible. The military is reimbursing my deductible since I was on official travel and forced to park at the base when it happened. Silver lining is that I get a brand new hood.

Awesome, hope when you get it back you cannot tell anything ever happened!

24 years in the Navy and I have never heard such a thing. Good for you.

Awesome that it’s not going to cost you anything. Glad that worked out. You can still beat it with a chain after you get it back so you don’t have to worry about keeping it perfect.

Just kidding about the chain. Mine is not perfect but I like to keep my stuff nice too
