I have ordered a 392 with the color matched grill and OEM trail cam with plans to get the black Mopar grill. Does anyone know how the factory trail/front cam mounts to the grill? Is there a bracket that just transfers over to the new grill?

I believe the part number is 82216097

This is the best price I have found, free shipping and no sales tax to FL.

Great post. When I ordered it didn't make sense to choose the satin black grill option since the factory painted grill is eliminated. This way you could always sell the factory grill or reinstall it when it comes time to sell.

Yes it makes more sense to get the painted grill in your build. You can always purchase the black one later for less than the factory price.

I did the same thing. Ordered factory grill, got the matte black afterward and did the swap. Frankly, I would recommend buying it with the matte black installed if you know you want it. The swap isn’t difficult, but it’s tedious, and there are zero people out there hoping to buy your original color grill. It will not matter for resale.

Agree on those points but I will have a grill to add lights to and hang on the wall of the garage. If the black grill gets dinged up along the way I can switch back. Not for resale, for my OCD.

I can’t argue with any of that, and mounting a grill in the garage is cool 🤌

Wow! Bam wholesale parts came through!. Ordered Tuesday, arrive Friday morning. I'll wait on my pixie decals order to come in and do it all at the same time.

I’m a huge fan of BAM Wholesale, they are great. I purchased Mopar floor mats from them, with the black (not red) logo, when it was impossible to find anywhere else, and they had it to me super quick. Good prices too.

So just to confirm, the Mopar replacement black grill for the 392 is the following:

82216097 (2020-2023 Gladiator)

And not:

82215114 (2018-2023 Wrangler)

Neither of the above listings mentions that they fit the 6.4L engine option.

I ordred and installed 82216097.

I believe the only difference in the two above is the size of the plastic mesh in the seven slots. If you find pictures, the regular JL has smaller holes in the mesh than the Gladiator and 392. If you have the front camera you are swapping most of that mesh anyway so its likely if you were to swap all the mesh, either part number would work.

I ordered the painted grill with the intention of having it wrapped if I wanted to go with a black grill

Great info.

Thank you!

Ordering the black grill when ordering a Jeep is a rip off. I paid less from a parts dealer for the part than the option when ordering and I still have the original grill to use as wall decoration or if the black grill gets dings or damage I can always go back

I installed mine about 2 months ago. I went with the GLADIATOR grill. It is a little tedious to install, but it is worth it.

Yep and I figured wrapping it would help protect it from damage. Just another thing on my long list of wants to do lol
