I mean you add weight and it impacts performance. You just need to determine which is more important to you. I added the MC skid system because it seemed to offer the best protection of the oil pan and the exhaust pipe that crosses over. I also bought the muffler skid but in hind sight that may have been overkill since there are many take off exhausts available for about the same price. I also installed rockslide powersteps which add more weight and a winch in the front which is more weight. Is there still plenty of power? Yes. Does it still stop reasonable well? Yes. Is the MPG a little lower in the city? Yes.
One thing about the MC system is that you install the fuel tank skid plate over the factory plate instead of swapping it. This makes installation easier but leaves a redundant factory skid plate in place.

Thanks for your input. Pretty much echoes my thought process.

This is my daily driver and toss the kids to my wife so will be keeping the factory exhaust for now. love how it sounds when opened up but tamed when in quiet mode.

But on the flip side I enjoy trying the more technical lines and know I'll be scraping belly.

Maybe I'll just flip a coin lol.

The redundant gas skid if what made me go with Rusty’s and save a decent amount of weight. I didn't even consider muffler skids since it would give mea reason to get AWE exhaust. I rotated the tail pipes way up and so far that giant muffler has acted like a skid plate. It has some scratches and small dents but not too bad.

Very good point on MC doubling up on the gas tank skid. wonder why they did that. Do you know how much the total weight of Rustys system is?

The AWE exhaust looks really well designed for rock crawling, just need toisten to one in oerson to see if it's wife approved.

While it my Jeep she somehow has lost interest in her own car and drives mine more now lol

I have noticed no negative or otherwise issues with driveability since the skids were done

I went with the muffler skid from them, and I'm happy I did. I do fence checks up through the mountains and trough pastures as well as high water creeks, at 2am with downpours high winds uneven terrain visibility is hard. The muffler skid adds just that extra layer of protection and it's not much when on sale/ really good discount codes.
