Very impressive gains and nice to see they used the factory induction system. I would be interested in seeing a 3rd party (aka Guinea Pig 😉) run the same test to validate the claims.

I'm surprised Stellantis would allow the intake to be so restrictive from the factory.

We will more than likely be running one on ours unless the aFe comes back in-stock sooner. Both are great options over the factory restricted setup.

Would be interested in Scotty Kilmer's take.....

So does the honeycomb section next to the hood scoop ducting port pass air through? I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at but it looks like some sort of fiber filter material. Wouldn't water get in that way completely defeating the hydroguide?

I think that part is sealed off… it looks decorative. Here’s a better pic

That picture does not make me think it's sealed off. Three layers, both the innner and outer layers seems to be designed to hold filter media..... The middle layer certainly looks like a foam/fiber pre filter.

Any gains are probably at the expense of not filtering as well. I'd be really cautious if one is taking their rig off road. But for us mall crawlers, I like it for purely aesthetic reasons if nothing else.

Wonder how much cold air that bleeds off from the hood scoop?

Who knows. I know the Jeep product manager was real skeptical in a thread on facebook that any of these intake companies would get any real gains. I'd like to see some third party tests....

I'd only get it for looks and sound. If it gives a slight boost in performance, then that is a plus...

So the entire assembly has to be removed to clean the 'Pre-Filter"?
No…The instructions show the “pre-cleaner” just unbolting from the top of the filter box with a few fasteners.

I’m 100% calling BS on those gains. Maybe 2 HP…maybe
Before I got to this post I was thinking 2hp would be an impressive number, there is no way a legit 26 hp.

Anything is possible, OEM intakes on any application have been notoriously restricted from Mustangs to F150s to Raptors to Wranglers to even the TRX. There's definitely a gain, even more of a gain on some applications with a proper tune adjustment.

I've always swapped out from factory intakes on any vehicle, whether it's perfectly aesthetic or if it shows a slight improvement over factory. No pressure on my end, I just know that both K&N and aFe make a great product and I would recommend them for anyone looking for an aftermarket intake.

I am not sure why they call the foam part a "pre-filter". Their is no pre-filtering of the cool air from the hydroguide. It would only pre-filter the hot air under the hood. Seems that would reduce the benefit of the cool air intake.

Agree, don't see the reason for it. Counterproductive.

Just another pathway to suck in air I guess. S&B has a knock out panel on their airbox to accomplish the same thing. I do agree though… hot engine compartment air getting sucked in seems like a poor design. Most CAI pretty much do the same thing..
