Good to be here. I just ordered my 392 on July 26 and was assigned a vin the next day. priority code 01, status D. So I have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer.
#1 How long is the real wait on the order? My dealer said 4 months max. They didn't mark it up because they are the biggest dealer in the world but I'm going to have to go to Idaho to get it. Used to live there.
#2 Once assigned a vin can I start checking on insurance and registration costs with it? kind of want to reserve a personalized plate as well.
#3 Does anyone have the Half doors? how are they so far? Look cool but just want a real world opinion. Thanks for any insight in advance and look forward to hanging out and learning all about the 392.

The answer your first question, I'm adding my progress so you can get an idea...

Green Sarge, hard top, headliner, tow package, gate reinforcement, all weather rubber mats, dual door, and cargo rail system.

04/06/2021 - placed order
04/10/2021 - received VIN #736077
04/21/2021 - Passed edit and is available for schedule
05/17/2021 - gathering all parts
06/14/2021 - about to enter assembly - scheduling status.
06/15/2021 - all materials received.
06/25/2021 - estimated ship date (7/21/2021)
07/07/2021 - frame stage.
07/07/2021 - F status - paint.
07/08/2021 - I status - final inspection.
07/10/2021 - built and pending installation of additional features or optional equipment.
07/16/2021 - JB status - body vendor.
07/22/2021 - built - shipped to storage.
08/04/2021 - new ship date (8/7/2021)

I have not met a person who ordered the half doors and regretted it. I love my half doors in my older 2003 Wrangler. If you can afford them, they are an amazing option. Only negative...that price.

thanks for the timeline. this really helps to know

To answer your second question, I called my insurance a while back with VIN but the agent couldn't find it in his system. I was asked about the usual make/model/year and such. My insurance would go up by $200/year. He said he felt confident that was going to be my increase, even if he was able to find the VIN.

Welcome! It may be helpful to find a new 392 listed on AutoTrader or CarGurus and use that VIN to get an estimate on the insurance. I did that while waiting on the build for a Charger Hellcat and it was very close on the insurance cost.

Half doors are amazing. worth every penny. there is a thread on here about them.

cant even compare them to any half door Jeep every produced. The top half are so well insulated and zippers and plastic are so substantial depending on where you live you could run them year round.

Jeep is killing it!!

get those and for sure get the rear tailgate spare tire upgrade mount

That’s actually a great idea. Thanks
