Jeep 392 AEV JK to 392 JL- my experiences.

Just thought I’d share some insights from owning both a JK 392 and now my JL.
My JK was a 2013 that was sent to AEV to convert 3.6l to 6.4L HEMI along with axle upgrades to D60’s. I ended up running 35’s and 456 gears based on suggestions from AEV.. it was too tall of gear for my liking given the 5 speed auto transmissions in the JK’s caused it to run high RPMs on highway 60-70mph. Back then, the 392’s were rated around 395HP and certainly had the torque that rivals my 392JL but the acceleration quickness and all around ride and drive ability is amazing in the JL. My Jk had 2.5 AEV lift but rode rough compared to JL and handling is night and day better on JL.
I share this only to say I’ve experienced 392 power in Jeeps since 2013 and I can certainly say with having that experience, this 392 JL is by far the best riding, handling and all around fun Jeep I’ve owned. I feel the 373’s are perfect for 35’ tires but 456 I’m sure would be great for 37’s.. XR was not available when I bought mine but I am happy with current performance of my set up. For those that are still waiting on your builds, you will not be disappointed in your 392 when it arrives. Cheers!

Nice. I had AEV swap a 5.7 Hemi in my LJ in Jan 2005. Lol. The 5.7 was hands down much nicer than the 4.0 but at 345hp, it's nothing compared to the 392. And the handling of this Jeep is so much nicer than the many other Jeeps I've owned over the years.

Funny I sent my JK for a 5.7 HEMI swap but was talked into to 392 by friends and family! Agree, this JL truly the best Jeep I’ve owned. Thx

If a 392 were available in 2005, guaranteed it would have been installed. Lol.
