Anyone having issues with intermittent back up lines appearing in the back up camera display when backing?
About half of the time, when backing, I will get just the back up camera display and the other half of the time I’ll get the “guide lines” overlaying on the back up display.
I've tried turning on/off with no change.
Kind of related to that...I’ll also occasionally get a beeping notice saying the backup sensors are dirty. (When they’re not)
Thoughts...anyone else getting this?

Same problem with lines

I gotta be honest I haven't looked at that close enough, yall are good at attention to detail! I literally should have crawled under and looked at my car with a fine tooth comb...when I first got it, I was worried about engine break in, but now it's like I've owned the car forever...took it to the beach and back, already almost 1300 miles on it and I got it inspected and it got hit in the front bumper in the parking lot already lol

I think my backup camera does the same thing, but I will try to watch more closely as I drive it over the next week or so

software glitch in the 8.4" UConnect system. New software should come out Q2 2021 to resolve it. I have found that if I reboot the system, the backup lines appear 100% of the time, (until they don't).

Here is the reboot process:
  1. Ensure your vehicle is in park and in “Run” mode.
  2. Press and hold down the volume and tuner knob buttons at the same time.
  3. Hold down the knobs for 10 – 20 seconds.
  4. After holding down the knobs, the screen should flash your vehicle brand name and then go dark.
  5. After a few moments the brand name will return, the system will reinitialize, and it will return you to the main UConnect screen.
I hope this works well for you.

thanks for this. Will try tomorrow

I have the same issue since day 1. The dealer is a personal friend and they were at the mercy of what JEEP told them to do. After having the JEEP for 3 days, talking directly with JEEP and trying things JEEP finally said it is a software glitch and they are working on an update for it. I know my dealer was more aggrivated than I was! Hopefully jeep's techies figure it out before cars are obsolete and we just "beam up"!

Yeah happened to me 2x but no biggie, I’m sure I’m not the only one backing my beautiful Rubi-392 carefully 😂

Same issue.

from my sales guy….

I think even on some of our other Rams and Jeeps it seems like if you turn them on fast and put them in reverse sometimes the grid lines don’t load up. I don’t think they issued any recalls but it does seem to be common. Not sure if it’s slow computing or something of the sort.

Thanks for posting this. My camera went totally black screen. I reset it and now it’s fine. Hope they fix this.

I had same issue with lines being displayed only about 50 % of the time. Today my back-up screen was blank except for the warning to check my entire surroundings. I tried the 30 second reboot procedure (above) and it worked like a charm. Thanks so much ! 🙂👍🏼
