Has anyone noticed intermittent blinking of their 4WD light when using a Tazer in the 2wd mode?

Yes and when I contacted zautomotive, they said this was normal.

I also had the 4WD light when using a Tazer in the 2wd mode prior to upgrading to the Atlas. I emailed Z-Automotive and was told it was normal also.

Teamslo, are you running an Atlas or using a FAD? With both of these the front driveshaft will free wheel and I am wondering if that is the issue?

This was before with the stock tcase. Now running an atlas with dtcm from a standard rubicon with no issues.

You guys were right on, here's the official response from ZAutomotive:

"Hi there,
We're tricking the computer to force RWD, so the light may flicker on occasion, not an issue.
Thanks,
Ian S
Z Automotive"

This does make me wonder if the front clutch pack is being activated when this happens, I might just stick my GoPro under there and see if the front drive shaft spools up when the light blinks. Considering the FAD unit has the front axle unlocked the only front drive shaft activity would have to come from the transfer case front clutch pack being activated. We shall see.

Ok, put a go-pro monitoring the front drive shafts and did some driving around, I did see the drive shaft momentarily rotate a time or so. It only rotated a few revolution and then stopped. My guess is the Tazer might misses to send a signal from time to time causing the light to blink and might pulse the xfer clutch pack causing the rotation.

Since there is no front axle connection or any torque involved its not an issue just as ZAutomotive commented.

Here is something else I noted, if you move the transfer case to 4WD Part time there is also no front drive shaft activity and other then the part time light coming on nothing is happening. So for those who have their Tazer in the 2wd mode thinking if I need 4wd quickly I will just shift into 4wd Part time. Nope that won't do you no good, you will have to put the Tazer back in the 4wd mode.

OldVetteGuy out here doing the HemiGods work.
