2016 JKUR, soon a 392 XR
Hi all,
I ordered my 392 about four weeks ago now. I’m having one thought that worries me as I have never driven one. I once had a road day with some super Cars for a friends birthday. There was a Shelby mustang with insane power and it felt like every time I stepped on the gas the rear broke lose. I hated it. How does the 392 feel when you step on the gas? I don’t mean pedal to the metal, just regular driving. I know people loved that Shelby feeling, but not me. I just want a faster more powerful jeep. Thoughts?

No worries, since it has full-time 4WD, even when you floor it, it goes straight and is very controllable. It just lays you back in the seat a little and sounds awesome. For just "regular" driving the sound in exhaust performance mode is addictive and you don't have to go crazy with the skinny pedal either....loads of fun and lots of smiles per mile....

You will be fine with that concern so don't worry and enjoy the anticipation 🎉

It squirms and grips, but I haven't gotten an slides on the road in the first 1200 miles (one week 🙌) and that includes plenty of goosing it

Even the launch control was surprisingly controllable, especially given the physical and audible violence sourounding it...

Well enough! I have a big sweeping ramp marked at 45, with my F250 I can take it at 80 in full confidence. My 392 is new and today was the first time on that ramp, on my way to the Bucs game, I hit it at just under 70. It was a little hairy but nothing seat time won't fix. I first started driving a Jeep in 1985 and never did I consider high speed handling as a measurement of a Jeep, with these new JLs, now you can.

I just turned 666 today and mines about 2 months old. I drive it mostly but haven't had a chance to get out on open roads yet. Live in Az and it's been a nasty hot summer but soon wonderful weather.
