How long have you waited for factory replacement part?
I am at 71 days and counting since my oil leak started (oil filter adapter.)

I'm not alone waiting for this part. It has grown from 32 to 38 on backorder since my visit to the dealership. I've tried ordering this part twice now (on my on dime), since it looks like it's available. Sadly, it is not. I figured it may be good to take a spare with me to Moab later this year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(FYI...2024 392, 2,440 miles purchased July 5th, 2024)

I thought after COVID that most of the supply chain issues were behind us. It would appear that idea was just a dream. These kinds of issues should not happen on a vehicle at this price point that is still under warranty. It is beyond ridiculous. Seems to me that FCA owes you some compensation for their failure to remedy the problem after 71 days.

Yep , especially when your warranty keeps ticking away while waiting. The longer the wait, the less time left for another repair they have to pay for.

I just want to drive my Jeep again. It feels like FOREVER.

Each time I ask @JeepCares about some kind of compensation, like giving me the Max Care warranty for an extended period they never follow up. I didn't even burden them with giving me a loaner or paying for a rental.

I have owned lots of vehicles, never had one un-driveable for this long. Especially at this price point.

It looks like they have the all the parts for the 2025 392's.

So we fab'd up a solution to move the factory oil filter up into the top of the engine bay to stop getting smashed all the time. This customer had a 426 conversion but our 392 uses the same style oil filter. Holley makes this adapter plate and then we had custom hoses and fittings made. Just food for thought.

Good to know! I will definitely keep that in mind.

I know there are others in the JL Forum also waiting months for this same part. I guess I don't understand supply chains and the priorities of new factory orders vs. fixing what has already been sold.

My wife and I were toying with the idea of ordering a 2025 392 since Mojito Green is available, but I think this whole experience has changed that idea. Bummer.

They definitely prioritize the ones they haven’t sold yet over the ones they’ve already sold and have been paid on. All about making money as opposed to keeping current customers happy unfortunately.

All about the immediate gratification...💰. Too bad that method just hurts (my) future purchases.

It's the Wall Streetification of business. Gotta hit the numbers for the quarter so the C-Suite gets to keep their jobs. I watched it in healthcare for too long and finally found an exit. Nothing matters except keeping the analysts and large stock holders happy. Customers? Who are they? Why should they matter? "My responsibility is to the investors", says the CEO of most companies.

Hello, thank you for tagging us. Please send us a private message with the last eight characters of the VIN if the vehicle is still at the dealership for this concern. We would be happy to look into how we can help.

I would LOVE to have this issue resolved, but I'm not confident that it will make a difference. No offense. The part needed is simply not available (yet). The leak started December 10th, 2024 (dealership confirmed on 12-19-2024).

So, we could drive it for 158 days (July 5th-December 10th), but it's been undrivable for 83 days & counting. Crazy that it has been broke down for this long. NOT a good look for Jeep when anyone asks, "Hey where's the Jeep?" 🤯

My case number is #91695579.

I waited for 9-months for parts when my Jeep started stalling on steep inclines. I did a Stars case, eventually got replacement parts, and it still happens if I get below 1/2 a tank. @JeepCares doesn’t care and Jeep still doesn’t have a fix for it! So I carry lots of extra fuel and get gas as close to the trail as possible, and level off when my fuel light comes on and stay level until the gauge returns to normal…

I can happily report the new oil filter adapter was installed yesterday. I have not crawled under the Jeep yet to see how it all looks. I hope they wiped up all the oil.

FWIW, I did ask for the old "bad" part, but no luck. They said they have to send it back in. They also did not change my oil or filter, just topped off the lost oil and reused my original filter. I was hoping they might do a complete oil change.

I crawled under it last night and the filter is new. My service advisor told me they reused the old filter, that was wrong. They did a pretty good job cleaning up all the oil sprayed everywhere.

That’s why the factory filter is on so damn tight, it’s torqued like crazy to that adapter from the manufacturer. If you notice any additional drips in the area I have an idea of your source.
