2021 Rubicon 392
I have seen where people switch out the useless tray at the backside of the center console for a Mopar part that adds two cupholders instead. I'm wondering if anyone here has done this. I find the part number 6BN67TX7AC on eBay but there it says it is incompatible with the 392 or any Rubicon.

Should have, yes, but it doesn't.

Will not fit leather package because of arm rest on right seat, will not fold completely flat - sticks up around 1-2 inches.

Seems to be, if folded down don't put any weight on top of the seat. You can check it yourself, fold down the seat and see how much room is above the tray.

I was puzzling over the cup holders as well until I got my jeep and found that it has two already in the back. Center of back seat folds down to make armrest and has 2 cupholders. My JK did not..............

I read on the JL forums, that if you either remove the center headrest or turn it around, when laying down the rear seat then the seat will still lay flat. I also plan on replacing the useless tray with cupholders in my 392 sometime in the near future. Let us know if you do your soon and how it turns out.

I could be wrong but it looks like it doesn't allow one of the seats to fold flat.

Here is the solution to the problem, it also slightly interferes when you fold seats down. Dont pay attention to the color match in the pic, the oic is not a good representation of the match to the 392 interior. This works perfect, holds a water or soda bottle and easily can be removed if you want to fold seats down all the way. There is another product similar to this on amazon, this is the only one that works perfect in the few I tested.

Well....hmmm.....that's interesting. Didn't know that was an option before I purchased and installed the cup holders from Quadratec https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/rear-cup-holder-conversion-wrangler-jl-factory-leather-seats

I watched one video on YouTube:
Very easy install and the helpful hints/suggestions worked great.

Yes, the rear seats do not fold down completely flat now unless I remove the headrest. But that tradeoff was worth it for me. I know there are two extra cup holders in the middle seat/armrest. But I like the ones on the floor better. Old habits are hard to change from my JK days. :-)

Still very happy with my purchase and install. Tested it on a 1200 mile road trip and all worked perfect. No drinks were ever spilled and the cup holders stayed in place.

they finally came out with something that worked, way too much work the one I showed installs in 5 seconds

I bought one and installed as soon as I read about it here. The cup holder/door netting situation was always a bit of a sore spot on my old JLUR, so I was pretty excited. 😀

The install was actually harder than I had expected. Your have to go through a number of steps and a few difficult bolts to completely remove the center console, but it’s totally doable. I just followed the YouTube video and got it in.

As for it not folding flat? I heard that going in, but it turned out to be a total non-issue. I fold the seats and load up the back fairly often, driving to and from the lake, and had honestly completely forgotten about the 1-2 inch until seeing this thread.

Totally agree with you!! If only I would have known, or if it was available when I did my search.
