According to their website they mount in the factory rock rail holes.

Just installed them and removed the factory rock rails this past weekend. Definitely recommend an extra set of hands and patience as the mounts free flow inside the backside of steps so you do have to hold on to that while screwing them into the mounted brackets on the Jeep

But we put them to the test on our road trip to see the GrandPrix in Nashville this weekend and rescue a new pup. Quite impressed with them. Now to add some bigger tires.

Pain in the ass to install

I will say that I’ve bought several items from @Johnny@JustBoltOns their customer service is flat out amazing. I’ve never had an issue with shipping or them responding immediately to a possible issue. I will continue to buy items from them above any other vendor.

With that being said, I’m convinced the mounting system for these steps was invented by an angry dwarf. You definitely need a second person to help hold the steps up. You have to get your hand inside of a narrow channel on the back of the step to hold the floating bracket in place. You also need the other hand to tighten the fastener all while supporting the weight of the step.

I like the finished product …but I said lots of curse words throughout the installation process. If you buy these steps be prepared for choice words and the assistance of a helper.
