Could you guys post some pics of the front drive shaft? There is a 6" ring that I believe is a balancer that has come loose and is just hanging on the drive shaft rattling around. The dealership didn't know off hand and didn't have one on the lot to compare.
I dropped the drive shaft and pulled it off. This is what it looks like. Thanks!

No idea - just remember having seen that ring in this video a couple weeks back.

Is it a rubber type of material ? It doesn’t look like it but if it is some sort of balancer I thought there might be some rubberized part to it what makes it stay in place?

Here’s mine

No, did not replace it, and have not noticed any issues. Had it out on the winter fun festival last weekend in Nevada city.

Mine slipped off a trail shortly after I installed Coilovers. It happened in December 2021 or January 2022.

I tied it securely to my front differential to avoid removing my front driveshaft on the trail. Stainless steel zip-ties are incredibly useful for this little operation 😁

I removed it when I got home and haven’t missed it at all.

I did the same thing as you except for I duct taped the crap out mine. It happened towards the end of the day and I was tired and didn’t feel like cutting it off or removing the driveshaft.

Just change out the stock garbage and install Admas drive shafts...you wont regret this decision. I run them both on my two jeeps

Take a closer look at the picture that the OP posted. The ring has nothing to do with the factory or any aftermarket driveshaft. In my case, It actually comes off the transfer case and slid down my front driveshaft.

Nothing against Adam’s… they make a fine product, but a driveshaft isn’t anything special. I think the value proposition they provide for the off-road shop is that the shop can just order the product at a dealer rate and sell it at retail, charge for labor + shop-fees, and not have to own & maintain an inventory or any specialized equipment.

Their value proposition for a DIYer doesn’t exist… but this is why companies advertise and give away free products to influencers 😁.

Many people don’t realize this but the majority of us can simply go down to a local Driveshaft shop, have them measure, cut, balance, and install a new driveshaft! The entire process should only take an hour or two ++ you’ll most likely save a few bucks in the process! Obviously small towns or international markets may differ.

Point taken. I have seen the photo, strange this would come off the transfer case. I never had this issue but I swapped out the stock transfer case to Advance adapters (Atlas Transfer Case)
