sure it didnt need a firmware update?

Too Bad! All my Tazers work just fine with the appropriate firmware upates except that Z-Automotive won't touch the Governor side of the application so we are stuck with 99 MPH max speed on these Jeeps and 185 MPH on the TrackHawks.

No idea, I never let the dealership update anything when they did oil changes. I did the normal update upon purchase before the initial installation of the Tazer. Doesn't matter anyway, the Challenger is gone, traded in on the Jeep.
My edit is that it didn't ever cause harm. Just splash screen craziness, and speedometer correction (forgetting size).
But it concerned me enough to put it back to stock
