Ok, yes I have hunted the webs as well as here but cannot find my answer.
I have a hard mount QD mount that I have used in multiple Wranglers over the years that I love. My current rig (‘24 392) has both tops and is a 4 door (obviously) this time. I had it mounted on the drivers side aft roll angled roll bar (HT on) as I have on other 2 door rigs. Changed to the soft top recently snd found that the mount is in the way of the soft top mounting bracket in that area. Figured I would just move is lower. Nope, in the way of the soft top while lowering. In front side of the roll bar. Nope, seat belt in the way.
Obviously I am not the only one that is mounting an extinguisher in a rig and utilizes both top options. What do you suggest?
I am thinking maybe hard mounting to the swing door. Maybe pax floor mount in front of the seat. Right now not ideal as it is sitting on the floor in the back seat.
I think my problem is this is my first 4 door, and the mounting options are not the same.
Thanks.
Troy

I do have that mount, but got excited thinking the 90 degree angle bracket just might be the cure! Nope. The soft top metal plate is in the way. This is pretty much where I have it c clamped when the Ht is on.

I was going to suggest that very mount. Bought it at Jeep Beach a few years ago. Works perfect but I dont use a soft top.

I use these and mount them on the rollbar crossovers.

Yea, thats where I mount mine too, but it wont fit once the soft top bracket is installed. That plastic cover pops off and a metal bracket goes in that spot. Right in the way.

Orientate it with the extinguisher down and I don't see why it wouldn't work. I don't have a soft top but this is how mine is mounted.

Quite a while ago I believe I saw someone flip the drivers side mount (probably from AAL) and put it on the passenger side. Pretty sure the extinguisher ended up below the roll bar then.

That is def an option. I like the larger can with QD bracket and was hoping to find a good location. This local won’t work safely with my set up unfortunately.
Thx,
Troy

I have plans to try this in the near future on the passenger front seat.

Here is what I use. Would this fire extinguisher mount work on a soft top? It gets the fire extinguisher off the sides of the roll bar.

I like this. When looking at the pic on their site for the JL, they only show it in the back seat floor. And not much room there for feet. But I rarely have peeps back there anyway, and could just unclip it for those rare occasions. Hmmmm.

Can’t quite tell, but it looks like it is mounted to ur utility shelving, which I do not have.

Its mounted to the roll bar. I'll try and find a link.

I really dislike the AAL mount. The mounting plate they manufacture is high quality, but the bracket itself appears to be the same one sold by a hundred vendors on Amazon and manufactured overseas. It’s a rattle can. Have stuffed it with every bit of padding I can think of, but it rattles me to death. It’s the only AAL gear that I’ve been really disappointed with.

Yes the bracket is the same as those sold on Amazon and I am happy enough with it to buy one of those for my other Jeep. It straps to the roll bar. I guess I got luck with two of them.

Love mine also. Its QD. Its gonna rattle.

Personally I like to have a fire extinguisher within reach of the drivers seat. A C-pillar mount is good for a secondary extinguisher but may be hard to access in an emergency. The under seat mount may work if you have power seats but for manual seats it may be a problem if you’re using a traditional fire extinguisher.

I’m using a Molle Platform Solutions overhead panel for two Element fire extinguishers. They could just as easily mount to a Desert Does It panel under the drivers seat. …please ignore the dog hair and dirt.
