I'm still looking to mont an ARB Twin to get a little better air than what the OEM compressor offers, but I Really don't want it inside under the seat for two reasons, I have the seat jackers installed, which I think preclude me from mounting anything under the front seats, and I'm really not keen on all of the noise/heat inside the cabin.

I had the brilliant idea to relocate the battery and place a compressor there, but the battery location bracket I bought goes right where the passenger side exhaust runs.

Then I saw this today: https://dv8offroad.com/collections/...-bay-compressor-mount-for-arb-ckmta12-cmjl-01

It appears to go inside the drivers side wheel well, behind an aftermarket fender.

I know that the washer tank is right there, but Motobuilt makes a relocated one: https://motobilt.com/products/windshield-washer-fluid-tank-relocator-kit-for-jeep-jl-jlu-392

Anyone tried this? Think it would work?

That mount is only for the 3.6 engine. I haven't found one for the 392 yet. From the website:

Note: This item is only compatible with vehicles equipped with the 3.6L engine. Will not fit vehicles with a 2.0L or Diesel engines. Does not work with factory fender liners.

What if you disable ESS and remove the aux battery? Will that give you enough room?

The 392 doesn't have ESS or the auxiliary battery.

I will certainly acknowledge that WY weather is vastly different than FL but I am never inside the vehicle when running the air compressor to air up. To me the vibration and heat are non issues. If its very cold outside when airing up, what's wrong with extra heat?

I also have had seat jackers and I think they will make it easier to install under seat. I did remove them because I did not find them more comfortable but I have dealt with them.

I was told differently. Haven’t taken delivery of mine yet, but I’ve seen posts about defeating it with a Tazer.
The spot where the ESS button is on the other engines is used for the button to turn the 'performance exhaust' on and off on a 392. Instead of it shutting off at lights you get the wonderful sound of 4-cylinder mode when coasting or under light load. :ROFLMAO:

My wife and sometimes our dogs often remain in the vehicle when airing up. The ARB will get very hot after a long session, sometimes enough to melt plastic. I'd prefer t reduce the chance of melting something that was just floating around in the back floor well. Often times my rear floor is covered with recovery tools.

And I forgot to mention that I have the CB and GMRS radio remote heads mounted under the passenger seat currently.

I know, I'm being picky.

I also wonder if it would fit inside the tailgate... I'm also considering replacing the 20a compressor with a twin, but that might require a custom spare tire mount. If I can ever clear these pesky home improvement projects, maybe I'd have more time to sort this stuff out.

Haven't had any issues honestly with the under seat mount even with the louder and hotter brushless. As Viking said, I'm usually outside anyway when airing up so noise is a non-issue.

AAL have a spare tire mount you could look into - https://americanadventurelab.com/product/jeep-jl-spare-tire-dual-arb-compressor-bundle/
I saw that one in my searching, but for my use case, venturing into the backcountry solo 50+ miles from help without a spare seems ill advised.

If I spent all my offroad time on the popular trails, then maybe, but I try really hard to go places that nobody else does, and that, to me anyway, means I should keep the spare. But I'd really like to ditch it, but I know as soon as I do, I'll wish I had it.

EDIT: OK, so disregard all of that. I was thinking that it was the spare tire delete option.... This might work for me, thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah, I read that too, but it looks like the reason it won't fit the 392, is because that's where the stock washer tank is located. I wonder if by swapping to the Mototbuilt tank, if that would buy me enough room to mount the compressor there. I was hoping someone had tried this, or was more knowledgeable about how much room the Motobuilt tank frees up right there.

It's also possible that the same location on the passenger side might have some room to either relocate the tank or mount the compressor.

I would be shocked if you could find room under the hood to mount a dual, even when moving other components around.

Someone here (I cant think of who right now) mounted an ARB behind one of the taillights. I think it was a dual but cant be sure. That sounds like a good solution for you @guruman

That’s the other feature of the Taser that had my interest. You can disable MDS. Thanks for the clarification.

It's the NoLimitz device that disables MDS..... The Tazer does a bunch of other stuff, force 2wd, burnout modes, blinking lights, high idle for winching, etc....

could def fit a single behind a tail light

I don't think there is room for a dual behind the taillight... maybe, but I don't see how you would bolt it in there even if it did fit.

I thought about adding a single behind each taillight, but the wiring and plumbing seems to be a hassle for two locations like that.... not out of the question though.

I think you need the Tazer first, right? It’s my understanding that the No Limitz won’t work without it.

I have not heard that... Based on where they connect to the Jeeps systems, I don't see why they would be dependent. The Tazer plugs into the security gateway, and the NoLimitz connects to the CAN bus star connector.

Their support has been pretty helpful in the past, you could shoot them a message.
