Factory-Matched Painted Hood Vent

I can’t find very many pictures online where anyone had their hood vent painted to match their hood, so I thought I’d post mine.

Courtesy of Distinction Applied, it came out amazing. I think I like the looks, it’s different, and it’s growing on me.

Anyway, maybe these pics will help someone on the fence about doing this or give you some ideas.

How difficult is the installation?

Installation is super easy, but removing the factory takes some finesse. You have to remove part of the hydro guide and then just take your time working the plastic to get it out.

I ordered the part from DA and they have a core exchange program for this one. Send the factory part back for $20.

hey Schorbf - I really appreciate you posting this. I just started putting some DA color-matched parts on mine and have done the wiper panel and windshield bumper covers. As $ allows I plan on working my way around to other things but have wondered about how the hood vent would look and I think you tipped me to replace it vs. leaving it black. I think my next DA purchase will be hood vent, latches and side vents.

The black plastic piece bugged me and I always thought Jeep shoulda made the hood without it, but that’s just me.

I hope you’re right about a D.A. sale next week because I need them to do a custom wiper cowl for me next!
