Someone stole one of my three Jeep Wrangler 392s 2024 white exterior and the VIN number and license plate and working with the police department. It was a coincidence but it happened right in front of me as I got back home and my kids and wife and parents were home and I got back home from picking up food for myself at a couple of places and then an older Jeep Wrangler four-door with aftermarket wheels black and red Wheels was assisting in the theft of my 2024 white Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with about 2,000 or 3,000 miles at the most. It was parked right in front of my home. I let go of the older black Jeep Wrangler and pursued following my stolen vehicle and I did break some laws pursuing while on phone with 911 and I backed off after the squad car started pursuing and they said the DPS with helicopters were pursuing as well but not sure if they got anywhere afterwards as 911 dispatch told me and demanded me to back off and pull over somewhere.

Sorry to hear this. What was the result of the police chase? Did they catch the maggot who stole your Jeep?

I was in pursuit of my stolen vehicle and then I let the squad car take control after dispatch told me to back off so they continued the pursuit but I think they lost him after they confirmed that they got him and then they lost him so I'm not sure what the end result was because they were going back and forth when I kept asking to confirm if they got him or not but they were saying they got the other guy and the other vehicle who assisted with the theft, so I'm not sure but I guess I have to wait for an update after some time but maybe tomorrow, who knows.

One has to wonder are these guys using this site to to locate the Jeep they want to steal?

Eek, makes me sick. I'm so sorry. I hope your rig is back safely soon. I just bought 2 faraday pouches after reading this. Been casually looking into anti-theft options that don't require too much involvement. Since it seems most things can be bypassed depending on complexity, I'm thinking of just a steering wheel lock. Hardware vs software approach.

Seeing stuff like this just makes me mad.. We work hard for what we get and those vermin have the nerve to steal it.. They'd probably have a few broken bones after I got done with em.. LOL.. I worked in a jail for 4yrs.. I've had my fair share of fights.. 🤣🤣

That sucks. My question is: how did they steal it? Did you leave the key in it? I am under the impression that if the key is more than about 50' from the Jeep, it will turn off.

Okay so I just got off with the local police detective who was very helpful they found one of the guys in the 2020 black Wrangler who assisted in the theft and what these people do is they have blank keys for dodges and jeeps and Chevys they take out the VIN and replace it with a different Vin and they sell the vehicle in the marketplace to make money. The guy they caught one of the guys he was of Cuban descent a criminal background with a bunch of tattoos they're going to prosecute him and deport him and take his 2020 black Jeep Wrangler and they are still going to work on locating my 24 Rubicon 392 white exterior. The guy that is arrested, his name is Victor matos. They use the tool to break in without causing any damage to the vehicle and from what I was told they are going to preserve the vehicle as in good condition as possible so they can sell it for the highest money as possible into the market after replacing the VIN and doing whatever they do to make it their own. From what the police department told me they usually recover 80% of these vehicles within the first three or four weeks. They already got one of the guys now they are pursuing the other guy. I was told that the guy that stole my white Rubicon 392 was going 160 or 170 on the tollway Sam Rayburn 121 from Plano Frisco or the colony area I guess. I did not pursue him any further because I didn't want any criminal charges on myself for going overboard and plus I didn't want to hurt myself as I have kids and I don't want to cause any damage to my other vehicle.

Sorry to hear that @Bald Guy :( Hope they are able to recover it for you.

If they do recover it the value will go down because it will be reported stolen on the Carfax which sucks big time for me but I guess it is what it is and maybe I will get out of it and trade it in for something else just to move forward and part ways and prevent any bitter memories from the past.

I was on phone with the police detective for several minutes and he educated me that everyone needs to have OBD Port locks on their vehicles which are a red color and also maybe aftermarket GPS tracker like a apple chip from Best buy or something as a temporary GPS tracker and also maybe some sort of steering wheel lock as three good measures to help prevent and deter. The factory stellantis tracker sucks big time and the criminals can cut the wire and cut off the tracker really easily.

My understanding is thieves are using the same software tool dealers use to access the Jeep's RF Hub. Once the code is captured they program the blank key and viola they have their key to access the Jeep. If someone has more on this or if I'm incorrect or missed some details please share. Also, I believe Z Auto's NoLimitz is supposed to prevent any access to the RF Hub including the dealer until it's turned off.

Meh. I don't really think so. 5 minutes with a hacksaw (or less, if you're a pro and bring a sawzall) and it's off.

My own preferred method is to pack a couple dogs (we have several Great Pyrenees), a gun (usually a Glock 19) and a lifetime of martial arts training.

I have a Springfield M1A Tanker in .308 with a 16" barrel.. That'll do the trick.. LOL

It is, but sort of hard to conceal. And kind of difficult to maneuver in confined spaces.

Splitting the difference, I'd go with my Daniel Defense PDW DDM in 300 blackout, with a can. It's even got a binary trigger, for those ever-so-fun mag dumps.

LOL.. It's actually very easy to move inside a vehicle.. 😂😂
