(I checked the forms are ready for a thread on this topic, so forgive me and point me in the right direction if one exists.)

I'm awaiting the delivery of a 392, and the more I think about it the more I'm resolute that I don't want the dealership doing anything to the rig outside of "what they have to ".

I do not want a “rest drive” by their mechanics, I prefer to pump my own ethanol-free gas, and peel the plastic from the interior since i get it home.

That being said is there anything that absolutely must be done by the dealership for me to take delivery? Do I have any right to request that the dealership simply unloads it from the truck and hands of keys over as is?
thanks in advance!

I asked for the delivery inspection reports (reports show mileage)from rail car and car carrier to dealer to make sure 392 was not drivenand had dealer sign agreement no mileage would be put on my 392. there is no way anyone at dealer would not get on it hard for a drive. I may be crazy but feel much better picking up 392 with no extra miles

Thats is a big concern of mine as well. I cant blame them, cause if I worked in service at a dealership, I would definitely take it for a joy ride.
Aside from “verifying “ that the jeep drives, checking engine oil, is there anything That dealserhip can insist that they do? Or something i would prefer that they do? (I bought a Tacoma a few months ago and literally they did nothing to the vehicle it was off the trailer and keys in my hand the same day. It meant I had to attach my own dealer plate on the rear throwaway the front license plate holder, and I kept the plastic on the seats for a couple weeks until I got my seat covers installed but they did absolutely nothing to that truck I’m hoping the same for the jeep, but the sales manager pushed back on me when I brought it up. )

My dealer seemed pretty on top of it. They have people on the forums so they checked all the fuses, made sure exhaust was level (though the factory may actually be getting that right now), and certainly did not let anyone drive it around or even let customers sit in it. Thank you Jackie and @zach@granger . At least I hope this is the case, I am having it shipped to me so I'll report back but the process has been great and I have only heard and experienced good things.

I made it clear to my salesman that no one was to drive the jeep. No salesmen taking it to lunch or test driving etc. I also said I did not care if they did ANYTHING to it. It showed up dirty with something like 29 miles on it so they washed it. I had video and pics of it on/coming off the truck so I know the dealer did not put those miles on it. The underside was caked with dirt, someone in the transport process had fun with it.

I picked mine up from Jackie and Granger a few weeks ago. Everything went well, no surprises. Only delivery item I noticed was off was that the tires were still at 50 psi. I lowered those in the parking lot, installed my rokblokz, and drove home to Texas!

I planned to make the drive but it was not working out, have a shipper picking it up tomorrow to deliver to me Monday!
