This is a repost of my own: from my own misspelled username no less. But new to the forum and wanted to Say HELLO from South Central Texas!

So before the stones and tomatoes fly... yes, I was very stupid and gave up my 392 order
I couldn't get any info from my local dealer for months on status, estimated ETA, anything. After waiting since the official announcement date and order books opened, I had the very first order at one of central Texas' largest dealers.

But after many, many, many long months of waiting and zero info from the dealer, my trigger finger just got too itchy and I needed to purchase (also had FE Bronco reserved as backup plan.) With the delays from Ford, and nothing from my dealer, I saw a Lunar Rock TRD Pro 4Runner at my local Toyota. Loved it and thought - "this'll do for now."

Two weeks later my Jeep dealer called and said my 392 was on the way. I very, very reluctantly told them they could release it. I've regretted it ever since.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 4Runner. It's just like, good. Al around "good." But it has no character. None. Zero. I miss my '18 MOAB every day. I miss every quirk and annoyance about it. It's a Jeep thing, right?

Anyways, I know it's going to happen. I'm a Jeep guy through and through. I thought I could wait and order a '22. Add the Recon pkg and it's a done deal. Here's my dilemma: right now, the TRD Pro is worth over $5K OVER original sticker - I didn't even pay sticker, so it's a great time to make a deal. Here's the gamble: I'd rather wait for the '22 MY but have no idea when those orders open. (the same local dealer is champing at the bit to make a deal now to order a '21. I haven't contacted other dealers yet.) So, do I wait and risk this used car bubble bursting in a few months and hold off for the '22? Or just say screw it and jump now?

I had the same feelings on my order. It took seven months to finally receive it. I was fortunate enough to have a sales person who also had one on order. He and I talked a great deal and through his efforts I stuck it out. Damn glad I did, I have had it about two weeks, and could not be happier. As far as your dilemma goes (if you don't like what you got, get what you like ASAP, you only go around once)

Patience! Something I've never had a lot of but learning. I ordered my 2018 WB Hellcat and it took 4.5 months because of the Demon builds. Was ready to let it go but everyone kept saying it will be worth it. Was it ever! So figure same with this. Only hang up for me would be wondering what next years colors will be! I would cancel mine right now if I knew PCP or Sublime will be an option for next year!

That's where I'm at... impatiently wait for MY'22 announcement on colors and stuff, or just order now???
Just really wishing I had your patience... full of regret giving up one of the very first builds (my order was in the official announcement day, way back in November)

Just honing my Xbox skills in the meantime to pass the days.....

If you can order and get a VIN I highly suggest you do it. I think you have a better chance of winning the lottery than the 392 being around in 2022.

BTW I have owned over 100 cars and the average price tag higher than the 392 and hands down it is the baddest MOFO I have ever owned. I have a tazer and a pedal commander. Before they were installed it was in the top 3.

I bought an M8 a few weeks before the 392 arrived to have a luxury vehicle and it is now on the chopping block. 392 and diesel gladiator are the two cars in the garage and a year ago it was a Ferrari Portifino and an E63 Benz. They never got driven I was always driving my 2011 Hemi converted 2 dr.

Catch my drift? Get on the phone with the dealer ASAP!!

Roger that!

That's music to my ears! I'm trading in my HC for the 392. I have a JK for a winter ride and just fell in love with it. No bells and whistles but just felt right. Figure can have my Wrangler and a Hemi. Oh and used car market is primed for selling.

@Smess - Just left a VM for my salesguy from the original order. Yesterday's Stellantis announcement sealed the deal for me: "End of Diesel over Next 9 Years." Subtext: the days of the V8 are also numbered.

Day'um! That Hellcat is gorgeous.
Thanks man. Had all intention on keeping her to. Just love driving my Wrangler more dare I say lol. No regrets she has been a blast. Might have saved 6k for the Xpel, ceramic coating, ect. if I knew what I knew now but I doubt it lol. 3yrs. old and not a scratch or chip on her.

Better jump on it. Dodge said 2024 all electric muscle car. Makes me cringe. So V8's time is ending sooner then later. I can't even imagine going down the strip with no rumble! I really hope I love this 392! I have a feeling in 2023 Dodge will go out with a bang! 426 or 426 SC'd. That will be tough not to want!
