I am bored. That is dangerous. Pondering trading my 392 for an ignition orange TRX. And no I don't have any logical reason to do so. Thoughts??

it is a great truck for sure :) you wont be disappointed either way

That's kind of what I figure. Besides the 392 is about wore out....it has 5xx miles on it! Lol!!! Thanks for the reply.

i just hit 3K miles and I'm thinking of trading up as well.. i love the idea of 707hp on tap!

The 392 is fun and is a great jeep, but I think riding around in a TRX would make me smile! After driving a 2 door wrangler with a manual transmission since 2015, the 4 doors and auto...even with the paddles...leaves me wanting more engagement with a vehicle. Not sure if the TRX would do that or not, but after owning a 2018 Demon, a 2020 GT500 Mustang and a 572 Hemi dart clone...guess I am a bit spoiled...and as I confess, bored with the 392. Go figure.

makes sense, gotta be happy! and im sure it will give you smiles for miles

It looks good in ignition orange! There is a vendor on the TRX Forum offering $7500 off new orders:

Ignition Orange is only available right now as a limited addition of only 895 so you won't be getting anything off sticker. Probably 5 or 10 over.

I have a TRX and it is the best truck I have ever owned for pure power and fun. If you have owned a 650 horsepower plus muscle car or sports car it won't match their speed and it will disappoint you a little if that is what you are looking for. If you remember its a 7000 pound truck it will impress you. It's a great truck.

Yeah, the other thought was a Challenger SS, or trying to find another Demon, although the Demon wasn't much fun on the road as it was rather track specific. Hell of a car though! The dealer isn't even sure he can get an ignition orange TRX and if not might just get a red truck. Anyway, this is a crappy time to try and buy much of anything new. Hopefully that might change in 6-9 months. Thanks for the replies.

I had a Demon and it was awesome for drag racing. I now have a widebody Hellcat Red Eye and its as much fun as the Demon. Plus it is a decent track car. Last I checked Dodge was offering a pretty good discount on the Hellcat Redeyes if you are interested in one. My TRX is Red and I think it looks good with all the black and bead locks. I had the grey center bumper replaced with a matt black one and it goes better with the truck I think. I really like the Orange too, but I doubt my small dealer can get one and I sure don't want to pay over sticker for one. If you decide to get one what ever color you choose it will put a big grin on your face every time you fire it up. I like my 392 Jeep but it is no TRX.

Thanks for that perspective. Hate to say it but the 392 seems too polished and refined for being a Jeep! Not sure that is a valid criticism...just an observation so take it for what it's worth. My dealer is at MSRP but questioned his ability to get an orange TRX. Red is not a bad second choice!

Been keeping an eye on those TRX’s as well… at this point a new order might arrive before my darn 392. You get SO much more for your money on the TRX… BUT it’s not a Jeep. I’m torn. Probably would’ve gone TRX already if it wasn’t for single digit fuel economy on premium fuel.

The fuel economy issue is a concern. Guys with TRX report 7-13 miles per gallon. But I figure this won't be a daily driver so it will be tolerable. Rationalization at its best!!!

I have a 2005 SRT10 RAM 500HP/525TQ 4.56 gears with a 6spd. not 707/650 but very fun to drive, I have 92K miles on it, I drove it everywhere I'm not sure what it was getting MPG wise maybe 10/12 MPG I didn't care it! You just get over it... it also required premium fuel to feed the very hungry 8.3 - V10 but it sure was fun to smoke Mustangs and Camaro's in a truck especially off the line! :) I say if you think you really want the TRX go for it you only live once. Now is the time to trade you probably can get what you paid for the 392.

All I am waiting for now is the availability issue. If I can't get the orange edition, I will order a red truck spec'd to my needs.

The TRX is a great truck... I'd love to drive one... but performance wise, the 0-60 times between a TRX and 392 are less than .3 of a second (3.9 vs 4.2). You are comparing a $75k Jeep to a $100k truck... so it really just depends on what you are going to use it for. I also own a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited that I love to drive... it's the most comfortable truck I have ever owned, and I would never give it up for a TRX. If you are wanting more from the Jeep, put a supercharger on it... still way cheaper than a TRX. Or even do the PCM exchange/tune for $699 and have the same performance as the TRX. LOL

I have pondered those things. Maybe I will just keep the jeep and buy a TRX to keep it company in the garage.

That's a great idea... never hurts to have too many vehicles. LOL
