So you are saying there’s a chanceOnly 250 will be produced — 249 of them exclusively for veterans and active-duty military.
The final unit will be auctioned off during Military Appreciation Month, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the United Service Organizations (USO).
Probably no changes internally. Not sure what the longevity would be but Whipple does offer a bolt on kit with a PCM tuneI'm really interested in what changes they'll make to support the Whipple. Interesting that they decided not to use the standard Hellcat motor, but they might use the same engine internals. Presumably they'll upgrade to the 8HP95, but is the "standard" 392 transfer case adequate? Will they switch to AAM axles from the RAM trucks? It's a super low run, so not sure how much actual engineering Jeep will want to do for only a few units.
I'm hoping they're solving all the problems associated with a supercharged motor, and this means we'll see a Hellcat option in two years. That might be part of the reason it looks like a price drop for the 392 for next year.
Whipples 93 octane tune is 705HP. The 91 Octane tune is less. I’m sure on the low volume production they’re not too worried. They’ll probably be more info on it here in the coming months.Looks like a great kit. Note that Jeep is suggesting +100hp in the Commando, compared to the bolt-on Whipple. At 700hp the Commando is essentially Hellcat territory, and the Hellcat motor has a lot of upgrades over the 392. But maybe for a handful of units Jeep is willing to risk the warranty issues?
