Yes, one of those threads. So I have a '23 Sarge on order. With all this talk of people changing over to Reign or Earl (I think production is slated to start in August, so people have apparently been able to change), I was starting to think of switching over to Sting Gray.

I spent half my damn weekend looking at pictures of one and convincing myself only to change my mind an hour later. I mean, maybe my dealer wouldn't even let me change.

In the end it really doesn't matter much, but I'd like to hear what people think with those two colors...or even duke it out if ya want. ha.

Anyway, my JKU was GCM. I liked it and I really like how the door frames and other parts on the inside really blended in and gave a more finished look to the interior (which sting would do more so than Sarge).

In general, I think I like the way Sarge looks a bit better. Plus it seems to be a bit rarer than sting gray. However, if I ever soft top it and want to match the half door uppers (which only come in black), then I need a black top which I really don't like on Sarge. I also like the idea of blacking everything out on a Sting gray though. I think it just looks really sharp.

I was reading a thread where they were considering both but chose Sarge in the end because even though they thought Sting looked great in the sun, it didn't pop much at all on gloomier days.

Per usual when getting any auto, I'm overthinking color. But anyway, any thoughts or insights on why you do or don't like sarge or sting gray?

Such a subjective question there is no right answer but her is my $.02.....

I thing the Sarge Green is as kick ass as it gets with the 392 - that green with gold/bronze accents I think really pops and is classic jeep through and through.....the only reason I did not go that route is I feel like I needed a military background to have the "street cred" to be able to get one in that color.

I also really like the sting and almost got that color on my order but at the end of the day I think gray is more of a trendy color and may get a bit dated (again love the color but not sure about long term love of it)

Loved black also but having had black vehicles, they are great when clean but show way too much dirt/blemish for long term in my book.

At the end of the day ordered the white and I love it.......the white/black gives storm trooper vibe and I think the bronze gives enough accent to make it not look too white/boring.

But.....if I could get the Earl with 1/2 doors I would jump on that right now!!

Heh, felt that same with the military. Well, my Dad served in Korea and my Nephew served in the gulf, so at least there is some military in the family.

I think SDJeepn's post is what started it. That pic of the gray with the black accents really looks good.

Silver has always been my “go-to” color in most of the 40+ vehicles I’ve owned because, IMO, it’s a classy color; it’s subtle; not faddish; I don’t get tired of it; and it hides dust and dirt very well. Maybe my career in the Air Force, surrounded by silver and blue, was an influencer; I don’t know. I was fortunate that Billet Silver was available when I ordered my 392; however, if it had not been an option, I would have likely chosen another shade of silver or light gray. That said, I do like Sarge Green because of it’s roots to the original WWII Jeeps.

Love my SG 392 with the nod back to Jeep history. I've had several silver vehicles but so has everyone else in America, so Sarge Green is a way to make your Jeep stand apart. I mean, what other vehicle would your order in Armyish Green?

I have half doors ordered. I would like to mod things to throw a soft top on eventually. I'd be a better with things if tan/spice upper half doors were an option. Again, I really just am not fond with the way black soft tops look with Sarge, but tan/spice looks great to me.

I think in the end I'm going to keep Sarge. I wish I could have two 392s. lol

Interesting theory on the colors in regards to the military. 26 years of punching holes in the oceans (Navy), so I guess I'm partial to grey. As we used to say, "haze grey and underway"! Love my Sting Grey 392!

Definitely if I were a navy man I would be right there with ya on the sting!! But then the white sure looks like the Naval Dress uniform!! :) :)

Sting grey for the win. 😎

I guess Sarge doesn't look too bad with a black top. The dark wheels help. I guess I'm going to have to look into replacing my XR wheels with black or something darker.

I think I'm going to end up sticking with Sarge. I do really like Sting Gray a lot though. (y) Since my last Jeep was GCM, I think I need a little more color in my life. I'm just not ready for firecarcker,HVY, or Reign yet (Hydro is tempting though).

I decidedly do not like Sarge on a typical rubi with the red accents, but luckily, I don't have that issue.

Add the 1941 side decal to this (and XR) and this'll be what I'm getting. The black grill helps a lot (but it also looks great on Sting too).

I would order a Mercedes G-Wagon in OD Green if I had an extra $200K laying around.
