The storage area pictured in your post appears to be the same size as my 2021 392. It's the muffler's fault. Also the center consoles are shallower than the none 392 JLs to accomdate the transmission and transfer.

Yup, the 392 rear storage compartments are much smaller to accomodate the muffler system underneath in the rear. Might want to check out the center console also, it is almost half the depth of a non-392 JL to acomodate the transfer and transmission.
extra horsepower is contained in the space beneath the console and below the cargo cubby in the back.

Yes sir, found that out when I ordered and received a Tuffy JL Console Security System for my 392 right after I received the Jeep in May 21, the assembly was to tall for the 392 console. Tuffy made it right though and sent me the appropriate parts to make it fit correctly at no charge. Problem is, the Tuffy console security system for the 392 is not big enough to accomodate a hand gun larger a small .380, even then it is a tight fit and not much room for anything else.
