I have the AVS on my 392 and Gladiator. Not sure it does much for the bugs, but has saved me a couple dings on the leading edge of the hood.Thinking of putting a bug deflector on the hood. Anyone running one they like, or have advice to talk me out of it?
@392mike is that one only double sided taped on? If so, any concerns for paint damage long term?I have the AVS on my 392 and Gladiator. Not sure it does much for the bugs, but has saved me a couple dings on the leading edge of the hood. View attachment 7797
I thought about installing a bug deflector, but then I wondered, “Wouldn’t a bug deflector interrupt the air flowing into the 392 hood scoop?” I mean, it’s already “hot as blazes” under the hood; do you really want to take a chance and possibly make it hotter? Not I.Thinking of putting a bug deflector on the hood. Anyone running one they like, or have advice to talk me out of it?
I'm only 58, far too young to put on a bug deflector or those thingies that go on the tops of the windows.

I lived in both Montana and Wyoming. Bug refectors were the norm. The rocks were so big, cracked bug reflectors were not uncommon.
And them friggen DUCKS!I'm 44 and going all in on deer deflectors (aka deer whistle)
This one is my personal favorite, it works on giraffes. Probably works on bugs and
rhino as well.

Thanks @Sim1TheOne I’ll hunt that one down. Do you happen to have a part number by chance? - scratch that, I see your link in the post.I posted about the Mopar screw on version I added earlier this year.
I travel for work and 95% of my driving is in pitch black, so bugs are plentiful.![]()
Bug/Rock guard
For any other curious individuals… I’ve had my 392XR for about a month and am slowly getting my mods on. I travel for work in my Jeep. When I had my JK I HAD TO install a bug deflector. Driving through spring/summer time bugs had me going through wiper fluid EVERY round trip/weekly. The guard...www.jeep392.com
After having it on for several months I can much say:
Against bugs; it gets an F
Against rocks; it get an A
Styling; B
Durability; A
I would love to know where you found a bug deflector for the 392. I cannot.I have the AVS on my 392 and Gladiator. Not sure it does much for the bugs, but has saved me a couple dings on the leading edge of the hood. View attachment 7797
There isn’t a 392 specific one. It’s pretty much just a rock guard anyway.I would love to know where you found a bug deflector for the 392. I cannot.
I can't find anything for the '23 and newer 392's for bug/rock deflector. Obviously the 392 and Mojave have completely different hood profiles. There isn’t a 392 specific one. It’s pretty much just a rock guard anyway.
Don't know about the aerodynamics, but that window is so vertical and so high up off the roadway not sure any bug deflector would make much of a difference.Thinking of putting a bug deflector on the hood. Anyone running one they like, or have advice to talk me out of it?
