How many considered the Bronco but decided Wrangler instead? I signed on for the pre buy but backed out because the top tier, full option Bronco was sold out immediately, figured on waiting, then seen a couple sport models (IMO looks like a keep patriot) that really cooled my enthusiasm.
Then talking to my mechanic about a LS swap for the JK, “ Jeep is available with the 392 now.” Well always said that if they offer a v8.. I will buy one… stars then further align and the 392XR just became an option shortly before my order, Perfect timing! Anyone else?

I’m sure you are not alone. There are many articles/discussions/videos talking about ford bronco badlands/wildtrak vs Jeep Wrangler 392, as well as their Sasquatch package vs Jeep’s Xtreme Recon package. You probably can get a more rounded idea by reading and watching those comparisons.

For me, I never thought about getting a bronco because I never liked the look, especially when I have seen some on the road. On the other hand, ever since the debut of Jeep Wrangler rubicon 392, I started thinking about getting one. Just because of the 6.4 v8 makes this cool rig so much cooler. I’ve watched all the videos and talks before ordering my 392 XR, it’s very expensive and way overpowered for daily drive, but it’s so unique and cool/brave. My life is not about being practical or getting the best bang of buck, it’s about being cool and a unique lifestyle. And this Jeep 392 serves my purposes in a special combination: the very off-road capable beautiful rig with passion of American muscle!

I was considering a Bronco. I wanted a Badlands and then was going to try for the Warthog/Raptor variant. However, seeing the delays and dealer shenanigans I said screw it. I really wanted a more powerful car, so the only version I'd probably be happy with was the Raptor version. Jeep came out with the 392 which piqued my interest more and then the XR package and there was finally a vehicle that had everything I wanted (retro looks that won't get outdated, four doors, way more power than necessary, decent luxury packages AND the 35 inch package), so I placed my order for a 392 XR at end of October.

I also think the 392 has more soul and will be more collectable / desirable moving forward since it is much smaller numbers and v8s being replaced. Jeep would have to come out with something pretty bad ass performance wise to get me to trade up from a 392...

When Jeep mated a 392 to a Wrangler, that was it -- no contest. And then you have all the other reasons; e.g., proven engine/transmission/frame; 35 years of continuous production; every possible after-market option; so iconic, Jeep didn’t have to adopt a “retro” style to drum up interest. I would never trade my 392 for a Bronco, but I might consider adding a Bronco (or a Defender) some time in the future.

I will let you know the deal, I have a 392 XR ordered and my 22 Wildtrak gets built the week of Jan 3rd after waiting almost two years 😂

I would also, here is something

I too have both on order. A loaded Badlands Sasquatch that should be here any year now… and an 392XR placed on 11/1. Should be a fun garage.
lol
