2022 392 XR White w/half doors (est. ship 5/13; ordered 1/23)
Good morning all, I've searched this forum and didn't find a thread that specifically discussed problems/issues folks have had at delivery. I've seen some missing items here and there, paint issues, mud caked underneath but was hoping folks could leave there experience (only if they found something off) in this thread. Your feedback would help me create a checklist to use during delivery. My 392 XR finally has a build sheet so I'm anticipating deliver in June. Thanks in advance.

Saw this one on a truck at a truck stop. Already had an experience with some off-roading. 😆

Interesting that it has a black top. Aren't all of the 392's color matched?

could be used and someone did a switcheroo before selling it. Dealers are oblivious and have no idea

+1 @Gnomad: Bring a tire pressure tool; and firmly seat ALL fuses (in engine bay).

Depending on what options you get, check that you get all the components. My XR was missing the jack base but Chapman quickly sent me one.

The biggest issue that we all face at delivery: Keeping it under 60mph for the first 100 miles! :)

Congratulations!

First of all congrats on your new arrival! Here's a useful thread that shows what you should get upon delivery, which I had no clue about and I later found out that lots of things were missing from mine after delivery. Someone stole a lot of things out of mine apparently but here's the list if you have the XR package:

https://www.jeep392.com/threads/her...en-you-pick-up-your-392.824/page-2#post-12143

Other than that, here's what I asked my dealer to do before I picked it up:

1) Seat fuses
2) Set tire pressure to 37 all around
3) Put premium gas in the tank (not the cheap stuff)
4) Check oil level

They were glad to do it and everything went fine.
My only regret is again, not having that list of items that came with my XR so I could have handled it at the time of delivery instead of days later. OH- and just my opinion, my last bit of advice- don't let the dealer detail your Jeep. Don't let them clean it. It seems like they put a 3" layer of tire shine all over everything on mine. Plus, if they don't clean it, you can see what kind of shape it was in when it arrived at the dealer and that can only go in your favor during any last minute negotiations.

I don't have that problem, I break my vehicles in like I drive them. Ok ok, I won't start another "break in" argument... 🤕

I always use the same story for what I do for break in. I bought a 2001 dodge 2500 truck on June 10th, 2001, brand new early release HO 6sp Cummins. While signing the papers I could see wildfire smoke coming from the direction of my house. Drove home and the next morning needed to evacuate my horses. So my 50 mile on the odometer new truck, since I traded my other truck, got hooked up to 15k pounds of trailer and horses and pulled 25k vertical feet of mountain pass over its first 250 miles. Still have the truck 350k miles and still original clutch. And same truck I took to the dealer for its first and my last dealer “free” oil change and they air ratcheted the plug through the bottom of the pan…. And had to pull the engine to replace the pan…

Mine sat in JB for 30+ days during a Toledo winter. It showed up like this (pic below), it was a cloudy 5 degree day when I picked it up so I didn’t spend to much time going around it. Once I got it in the garage and under the lights I noticed the horrible shape of the paint. The dealer I ordered from was 9 hours away so going back wasn’t an option. I had full frontal PPF scheduled which included a 1 step PC on the portions he was wrapping. The dealer agreed to cover the cost to PC the rest of it.

Just attended the Raptor Assault program and drove the new Gen 3 Raptors… mine had 800 miles on it. We drove the heck out of that truck on and off-road.
