Maybe a dumb question but I searched and can't find answers. I've seen people replacing the factory antenna with the black stubby antennas. Much better look. Where are people buying these? Any other interesting options for antenna replacement besides the little black stubby one? Would love any info on where people are buying from.

search on Amazon for short jeep antenna

There are a multitude of options. You will lose AM/FM reception capabilities (some more than others) with any of the aftermarket shorty options. Just look at the one you like and get it from any distributor.

I'm clearly overcomplicating things... coming from the world of BMWs Land Rovers and Porsche's "go to amazon" would have never been an option. I'm quickly becoming a fan of the jeep aftermarket ecosystem (key hole covers from ETSY were perfect, LOL). That said, really don't want to buy a garbage product for what is a very expensive wrangler.

Just one piece of info.
many don’t realize, the antenna also serves as a clearance indicator. Its about 2” higher than the roof. Some care, others don’t.
My JK, I cut short, ground the tip, added the ball back on, painted with textured black and saw no dip in reception. Surprisingly, for a cheap job, I got a lot of compliment s and asked where I bought it. Just a shorter factory antenna. 🤓
