Happy New Year, all! I'm excited to share that I've finally joined the 392 club! We ordered it at the end of August and Jeep delivered it a week before their estimated date. We picked it up just before the new year! With that said, I installed an Airlift airbag to level my previous JLUR for our trailer. Just checking to see if anyone with an XR has done the same? If so what size/model number did you go with? Thanks!

Beautiful Jeep and welcome to the club! I have Airlift bags and compressors on my F250 and my F550 based motorhome and they work great. Seems like they would make the ride a bit harsh on a Wrangler though.

Damn, that's a rad photo! Looks like you've got some experience in the photography department

Whatever you end up doing with your jeep, make sure you submit a photo to one of the jeep of the month contests (y)

Thanks @Electrified! You have good taste in Jeeps too. ;). And thanks for the advice. I had them on my 2019 JLUR and it's not too bad if you "air down" to 5 psi after the weight comes off. With a trailer and a RTT, I feel these things are better options than heavier duty springs. Especially since the 392 is my daily driver. Cheers!

Thanks @dog! Once I get some time from doing all the mods, I'll definitely post more. Congrats on winning the JOTM. That picture is badass!

Hi I have a 392 that I’ve been towing a small camper trailer with and can notice the rear is starting to sag even when the weight isn’t on it 😪 @Dexterjeeper did you end up getting a airlift system installed? Unfortunately there are no dealers for airlift is Saudi Arabia and online it just says that their system fits the JL but since the 392 is higher than the regular Jeep I’m worried I would need addition spacer or a bigger air bag not sure which one to get. Any help on this would be highly appreciated!!!

I installed them on my 2024 392. After taking the camping trailer out. The trailer has a 275lb tongue weight. It was riding so harsh over even expansion joints on the highway that I looked under and it was bouncing on the bump stops. The install on a lift literally takes 30 minutes. My buddy and I took an hour because we threaded it through the frame rails. Now the trailer rides level. I took it out on some badly corrugated country roads and it handles way more stable. I was hesitant about whether to install them until I heard the compressor on my suburban under load turning on to level the back. If the engineers at GM think a level ride is important, who am I to argue!😉

It’s my daily driver so airing up to tow and then airing down every other time is perfect. If I was constantly under load (heavy drawers, gear etc) heavier spring rate would be better and safer.

Yes I did! Here's my post where I gave the details. This was my second bag system. I undersized on my first Jeep and went slightly on the bigger side this time. Definitely worked out much better this time. For the XR, I use the 60926 kit and still holds air perfectly 1.5 years and lots of trailer towing over rough terrain later. My trailer has a crazy 500+ lbs tongue weight too.

I installed the 60829. It’s the one recommended by airlift for the JL. I chose it after cseaman on the JL Wrangler forum confirmed placement on his 392. See URL below. It comes with 2 spacers and airlift recommended both spacers installed. 1 for sport, the other for Sahara and both for rubicon, if I’m remembering correctly. Someone else on a different forum suggested using the manual measurements tool from airlift as they had a Clayton lift vs OEM. I haven’t done any crazy off-roading but with 5 psi (minimum recommended by airlift) it stays in place at full droop while on the lift.

Funny story, once on the ground, one side would fill and the other wouldn’t. Install tip, push to the top making sure nothing is pinched, put a little air in the bag so it stays in place before letting it off the lift and compressing the springs. Then fill it up all the way and don’t let the pressure get below 5 psi when you let it back down

Oh no I ordered the 60826! Do you think I should cancel the order and get the 60926?!

u said on the XR, 😅we don’t get that option here so not sure does that have larger springs than the regular 392? I bought them off of amazon and for the 60826 it says it fits the 392 just worried about having to install spacers and not sure if that’s going to make a difference in off road performance. I do a lot of dune bashing mainly so don’t want it effecting the performance. Would appreciate any insight on this thanks!

Ah ok so I stick to 60829 😅 sorry the other comment about the XR threw me off and I didn’t see your message till after I already replied sorry new at this whole forum thing 😅

I would suggest giving the Air lift guys a call if you're not sure. You can see the specs on the 60926 here. Unfortunately, they don't list the specs for the non-universal kits on their website. At least none I couldn't find. I would take their recommendation over my speculation ;)

If you keep the pressure below 10psi, you should feel no difference than stock. At least that's been my experience.

Thanks for sharing. Since our 392s with 35" tires supposedly have a 2" lift over the other Rubicons, I am happy to hear you didn't have issues with needing more spacers. At 5 PSI and no load, do they have a gap at the top?

No gap, 5 psi unloaded

I would call Air Lift if you have questions. I called, and they told me that the item # that comes up for the JL is for the NON 392 Rubicon (shorter lift). I had to go with a custom size because of 392 and I have an added 2" lift. I measured like the instructions showed me and confirmed with the Air lift tech. Super easy.

I ran 60829 w/ stock XR suspension for 23k miles and now using the 60921 w/ my AEV 2.5" lift. I also run the Air Lift Wireless One compressor which maintains 5lbs in the bags at all times and doesn't require any work to air up/down w/ our trailer.
