392 Forever?

I have 3 forever vehicles:
2008 Jeep Liberty with a lifetime powertrain factory warranty. 360,xxx miles now.
2003 TJ Rubicon Tomb Raider Ed #1095
2021 Rubicon 392 - my kids, like @guruman's, have also asked for it when I die. I'm getting buried with it in my my graveyard.

A man of honor, keeping those vehicles at their forever home haha! I don't have kids yet, but sounds like y'all better watch y'alls backs haha!

Once I got my BMW built up the way I wanted it, I said I would keep it forever and sold it a few weeks later.

Once I got my AMG built up the way I wanted it, I said I would keep it forever and sold it a few months later.

Once I got my TRX built up the way I wanted it, I said I would keep it forever and sold it a few months later.

Now I have my Wrangler 392 close to where I want it so I am getting nervous...lol... Nah, that's the thing with Jeeps, there are so many mods that you will never run out of things to do with them.

I took my wife's Jeep into the dealer for a free oil change yesterday and they had a 24 Harvest Sunrise TRX and a 24 Granite Crystal 392 on the floor. I liked them both but I liked my 392 more.
Reading the first 3 lines makes me think about how people say "its not the destination, its the journey" haha. You're right though, a wrangler can literally be an endless journey with all the mod possibilities. Just checked out your 392 and it looks amazing. What size tires are you running? They fit perfectly imo.

Plan to keep mine a long time. It is always hard to predict the future though. I suspect at least 10 - 15 years. Jeep or some other manufacturer would have to come out with something pretty epic to make me want to give up my 392.

Worst case, I may give it to my son at some point.
Yea I guess at some point they have to come out with another show stopper. If your son gets it, he'd be one lucky dude!

I’m in the ride it until I die crowd. Although like others my 8 year old daughter thinks it’ll be her first vehicle 🤣. My wife is 7 months preg, she’ll have to compete with her soon to be brother for it when I’m gone. Maybe I’ll just take @byhumba ’s idea and get buried in it!

I like to think I will keep my 392 forever but I know better. I will probably have it for 3 years maybe 4-5 at most. Then again things could change in a few months and I sell it/trade it off next year.

For now it is nothing more than a fun toy. Out of my fun toys the 392 would probably be the st to go if I had to get rid of toys.

37s with a TeraFlex 3.5" Alpine RT3 Short Arm Suspension System. I will replace them with 38s when these wear.

My last 6 vehicles were the ones that "I am keeping forever".

I'm at 18 months and it's still the go to vehicle to just get in and have fun. We have a decent stable of high performance cars and a super big comfy truck but the jeep just makes me smile. I really like the V6 Rubicon we bought years ago, but I love this 392. The engine is absolutely the right size :-) I get bounced around in that thing and I wish it were about three inches wider (shoulder pretty much rests on pillar) and it's not going anywhere. Forever until Jeep makes something faster and sounds as cool.

Forever is a long long time but as of now yes it is a forever car - or rather my son is the next in line to take over

Wondering if anyone plans to keep their 392 running "forever"? When i bought my 2015 JK, I said "I'm going to keep this thing going forever"...it's 2024 and I still have it and it's still going strong. Of course I've had to do my share of maintenance, but that's why I like the Wrangler platform (most of the work can be done under my carport). Anyway, when I bought the 392 recently, I bought it thinking "I'm going to keep this thing running forever" anyone else have that mentality? I see a lot of people talking about trading theirs in for the mewer model before the warranty is up or what vehicle they'll get next when they are done with their 392. I never intend to be done and I'm wondering if I'm a psycho or if this is a rational mentality to have?
The 392 has a tendency to put a ridiculous smile on everyone’s face when they’re inside driving with me. The exhaust sound, the screeching tires and seat thrusting never gets old. Every time I drive it it makes me smile and gives me this feeling of a caretaker of a special vehicle that will outlast me.

My 392 is written into my will to go to my daughter.

I have one of the 150 20A AEV upfits, so yep. It'll take a lot for me to give it up. The only way, is when I retire and start living more of a nomadic lifestyle, I could see myself getting a nice old TJ/LJ to cart around behind an RV/van. I'd probably still keep the 392 at my home base though.

Everyone that rides in mine ends up wanting a jeep (even if they historically "hated" jeeps) Everyone in this forum is blessed to be alive during the run of the 392 Wrangler! Now they just need to put the 6.4 in a gladiator so I can have a truck too lol.

Man, I was borderline on the Mojave Gladiator becaus I dont "need" a truck but I've been reading so many good things about the Mojave...you may have just added a vehicle to my fleet haha.

I hate to ask before doing my own research, but what artifical sound are you talking about? I just turned off my front collision braking yesterday, I'm ready to turn off more unnecessary features

Side note: sounds like you hae some awesome vehicles. I'd love an old TJ!
Also curious about the artificial sound.

I'm getting buried with it in my my graveyard.
When I read this I thought, "what a great idea." I read this to mean that his 392 will be in the graveyard when he is buried, not that he will be buried in his 392. I actually asked my wife to have my 392 in the graveyard when they put me in the ground and cover me with dirt. I will have my chance to say goodbye from the other side. After that she can do whatever she wants with it. I suspect my oldest son will inherit it.

Yes, you are right, I meant in my graveyard. Two tombstones, one will say my name, etc. The other will say, "Here also rests his beloved Rubicon 392." 😎

When I finally got my 392 I told myself that’s it this is a keeper..I feel exactly the same way today. I can’t imagine replacing it unless it has a Hemi..

Keeping mine forever or until it can no longer drive, That V8 sound with my AWE Exhaust and Bestop Trektop ultra is music to my ears. I just want to pay this 2023 off and enjoy what the future holds for it.

As long as the engine is functioning, I'll be driving my 392. One of the reasons I bought this Jeep, other than it is an amazing vehicle, is the engine. The 3.6-liter Pentastar® V-6 engine in my Jeep Sahara needed major engine work after 150,000 miles. I drive a lot, enjoy Jeeps and need one that will last ~300K when maintained.
