I was going to do 20s but maybe I should look into 18s what do people think? I'm in Colorado and plan to wheel the Jeep but not crawl like I once used to. 20s are big and don't have a lot of sidewall - thoughts on a smaller size? 17s look tiny

yesterday you said you were doing 37's on stock wheels, which is the last thing I would do.

20's don't have a lot of sidewall? Do the math, it depends on what tire is mounted on them. Like I used to tell my old girlfriend when we discussed things that were too big or small, its all relative to the other parts being matched together.

I prefer 20’s myself but I’m in the minority as it relates to heavy off roaders for the reason Smess stated, sidewalls are narrow for rocks and other trail challenges. Mine gets used in mud more that rocks and for me, 20’s are my preference.
Great thing about it, you have many choices and it’s really up to you on how you use it and what you like aesthetically.

20’s and off road in CO is a mistake. However, what is your current off road style? Fire roads? Unpaved roads? Forest access? I think Forest access would be the limit on 20’s, and on some, pushing the limits of that wheel size.
18’s will keep you in the zone of not being limited anywhere.

Smaller wheels and bigger tires. IMO 20" wheels look silly on jeeps and trucks. The factory XR wheels work great for 37s not sure about the non XRs.

been behind the wheel of all three for many miles, 18 would be my pick. 20 can be hard on the kidneys at times and people dont like 17's because they look bubbly. my brother has 18's and its perfect
