I Have the mud tires now with stock rims. Looking to get 35’s with keeping stock rims. What are your suggestions ? Can you offset 35’s with stock rims? New to all of this! Photos are appreciated if you have upgraded with info on what you did. Would like suggestions on what to get! Thanks

Yes but No. The rims are too narrow. A wider rim will also increase the tire width. FYI: You are opening pandoras box. Ask yourself how much of it is for aesthetics. The ride will change and will become a domino affect. In that case order a 392 XR. However the market today for a trade-in on a 392 is not very good.

i was contemplating running 35s on the stock wheels and wondered if you mounted the tire using the beadlock it would move the outer tire bead to the outside of the factory mounting position gaining roughly a 1/2 inch and run a 35x11.5r17 I would think you would be good to go but I don’t believe the factory wheels are DOT approved in the locked configuration for highway use.
I ended up going all in on Hutchinson Rock Monsters and cooper stt pro 315/70r17 specs

Yes, you can mount 35s on your stock 392 rims.
I had them installed within days of acquiring my black ‘21 392.

just wondering why the market today for a trade in on a non 393 is not very good. Would the trade value on a 392 xr be also not good. Off topic but just wondered why?

Wishful thinking, trade-ins are still going strong for 392s around here.

There are few choices out there that are spec’d for 7.5” width, stock, rims. Toyo and Nitto make 35x11.5x17. That is what I run. They fit perfect on a stock rim. Nitto makes a 37x11.50x17 if you want 37s…. 285/75/17s will be 34s if you want to 1/2 step. Those will fit on stock rims. Lots of choices.

Running Falken Wildpeak AT3/Ws in 35x12.50r17 on the stock (non-XR) rims and they look and feel just fine with no rub. I'm really liking these Falkens, intended to get Nitto Ridge Grapplers again or try the new Recon Grapplers (in the same size) but they were both on a nationwide back-order when I received my 392. I did some more research and liked the looks and reviews of the Falkens and I have to say that so far Im very impressed. Just as quiet as the Nittos, handle great with no wandering and they're 3Peak rated (not that I had any complaints about my RGs in the SoDak snow) and come with a 55k tread life warranty.

I have Nitto Ridge Grappler in 35 x 12.5 on my stock wheels. I could feel a loss of perceivable power when going to larger tires but installing the pedal commander brought it back. If you change one thing on a Jeep, you will have to change other things to make it right.

Did you regear your jeep?

Did you regear your jeep?
Not necessary, there's really no discernable difference in acceleration after swapping. It's got so much power I can still squawk the tires just fine with the 35s.

Do you have to change the gear ratio when going to 35’s?
To put it in perspective the difference between 33s (285/70/17) vs 35s (315/70/17s) is about 30 revolutions per mile…. To 500hp that is nothing. It is a jeep thing to re-gear because they have always been under powered, these are not…. In full size truck off road vehicles it doesn’t happen much because of the power available. I run 35’s on my 3.55 geared dodge 2500. Never crossed my mind to re-gear that truck. Has all the power it needs and I tow 18k pounds with it. I put 35s on my 392 in the first couple weeks, so don’t remember what is was like with 33s and my 35s weight the same as my 33s did. Mine is fast enough on 3.73s…. It is a jeep and accelerates faster than it should already…
