Just driving down the street and the sway bar light went on, then the steering wheel light came on then lost power steering. Opened the hood and the hood and everything under it felt like it was super hot but the temp gauge was normal. Hopefully nothing serious

Make sure all fuses are seated properly. It appears some have had issues similar to yours because the fuses were not seated tight.

Thanks, I will take a look
Give us an update when/if you find out what caused that problem. The engine bay feels uncomfortably hot when you open the hood by the way (It's a Jeep thing. Lol), as long as the temp gauge shows normal temp, then don't worry.

I will defiantly let you know. I checked the fuses and it wasn’t that. Under the hood was still (super) hot 4-5 hours after it was parked so I still think that was weird. Getting it towed to dealer later

Did they tell you which wire it was?
It was the wire that sends a fault message about the anti sway bar disconnect. From the dash it looked like it was disconnected but wasn't. During the diagnostic phase 2 fuses were blown by the tech in trying to locate the wire. There were other wires close to the header which became very hot. The anti sway sending unit wire literally burnt. He spliced the wire and wrapped it in insulation and relocated the wire that was generating the heat.

This is interesting. Now I wonder if it was unique to your 392 or this is something that will give many others trouble? Thanks for the info.

Also interested in knowing if @Leopold and @Mikeylikesit had the same problem and if this is something that many others will encounter. Please keep us updated. Thanks.

Are you satisfied with the fix you got?

I hate dealerships, I would rather pay my local mechanic over some 18yr old at the local jeep dealership taking a look lol...as many jeeps as I have bought over the years, one thing will never change...my disdain and lack of trust of the supposed expertise knowledge of jeep dealers, which always have high turnover lol

Just like I would rather buy my mopar things from quadratec for the same price, than from mopar or jeep dealers directly!

Thanks much for providing the mechanic comments. After my new wheels/tires (35's) are mounted later this week I will take my 392 into my Dealer for programming adjustments. At that time I am going to show them the comments you provided and ask them to proactively look at this wire to make sure it is safely located away from heat sources.

I picked mine up Friday night, drove it home and parked it in the garage. It has 57 miles on the clock. Did not drive it this past weekend or week because of lousy weather (thunderstorms).

Really appreciate the information!

You can order mini tuner ... and do it yourself... it takes less than 5 minutes...
or maybe someone else near by has one

I agree that I can do this with a mini tuner and plan to get one. However, my dealer (the actual Jeep mechanic) told me that there are multiple things they reprogram with larger tires, like the brakes, etc. He highly recommended that I bring it to them for the tire size change programming. He also told me that if I get a programmer like the HpTuner and reprogram the Engine and Transmission controllers, it could cause warranty problems down the line. So, I am going to let them do the program changes for the 35" tires and get a programmer too.

Might you be wiling to provide the last 6 numbers of your VIN? That should give us some idea of when your Jeep was built compared to others.

This Tech did a great job and understands the difference between resistance and reactance in a circuit. Very had to find those guys. Must be a Vet.
