Long time lurker, first time posting.
My story,... I had always wanted a Jeep Wrangler b/c I liked the customization and community so in May 2020 I bought a 2012 JK and spent the next several months customizing it. Lift, wheels/tires, upgraded tie rods, stabilizer, smart wrangler installation, etc. I loved spending countless hours on a Saturday perfecting it. It had everything I wanted. Except power. I thought I'd be fine, but the need for power kept pulling at me. I came VERY close to pulling the trigger on a HEMI conversion with Rubitrux. Drove down there and test drove their demo and loved it, but the lack of warranty gave me pause. I also feared it would have overheating problems years down the line so I decided to wait. Then I heard about the 392. I told myself "No" initially because I truly felt my JK was perfect. 2 years later, I decided I had enough... I NEEDED (really WANTED) more power so I decided to start looking for a 392. I found a 2022 392 nonXR for 78k with no previous owner, but when I contacted the dealer he was honest and said "yeah, that is just the price to get the buyer's attention, the ACTUAL price is 10k more". Obviously, I passed. Funny, that jeep is still listed on cars.com. Then I found a 2021 392 nonXR for 83k at a CDJR dealership and got to the point of sending a small deposit (the requested $500 to hold the vehicle), but the seller went radio silent for 24 hours. No response to emails or texts. While this took place, a miracle happened.... I found a 2022 392 with the XR package for 78K. The "catch" is that it had 6k miles and was out in Colorado. In my opinion, it was a perfect deal. Upon seeing this, I immediately contacted the dealer (Land Rover dealership) and the salesman confirmed the price was legit. Carfax was perfect. One owner. Nonsmoker. I quickly sent a deposit and the other required paperwork and now it is sitting beautifully in my driveway. During all this, the other dealer who went silent on me said he was out of the office for a day for his daughter's recital and was ready to close the deal!! You snooze, you lose haha. I know it's been said before, but it feels like the 392 is perfect for a Wrangler. I test drove a local 392 nonXR and I do feel a noticeable difference in acceleration with the gear ratio of the XR. The XR drives more lively. I have a bunch installation already scheduled for 2 weeks and can't wait!! Here's a couple of pics until I get home.
