Land Rover announced the new 2022 Land Rover Defender today with a new V8 model. This new model has a supercharged 5.0l V8 that puts out 518 hp, 461 pounds-feet of torque. Looks like the Jeep will still have a better 0-60 mph.

Any good programmer you buy will have a default to save OEM Tune and it will save the stock tune on the programmer. So if you have any issues you can set it back to factory settings this will cover you from having warranty issues. The dealer will never know you had it done!!

You'll think that until you hit the throttle.....you'll be @ 99 before you know it. Then again, I ride a Harley with 150hp.......
I agree! What’s the point of having a bunch of horsepower you’re not gonna use! Just buy V-6 and gear the shit out of it! LOL!

Not sure anything over 99MPH is recommended in a wrangler, especially if there is a crosswind. Stability is not a strong suit for these vehicles. YMMV!!

If you are interested in a fast Jeep I recommend the TrackHawk. For just a few dollars more you can pump it up to 859hp with 808-foot pounds of torque at the wheels on E85 Fuel. The red lines on the graph are the baseline dyno run numbers at the wheels before the upgrades.

A more appropriate question might be, how many range rover defenders is the typical jeep buyer going to encounter? And if so, is it realistic that said defender and jeep are going to have a race to 99 MPH? Put your worry beads away and enjoy the wrangler for what it is. I for one could give a rats rear what a defender can or can't do performance wise. But that is just me.

Wonder how this went over... "Custom Broncos crash the party at Easter Jeep Safari" This was part of the headline of one of the articles appearing in the current edition of Outdoor X4 online magazine.

That is like saying rum raisin ice cream just joined in with the coffee heath bar crunch. I'm sure they are great. I'm sure they are cool. I'm sure they will do the job, but they aren't a Jeep and never will be.

Roger! Got it! What was Ford trying to accomplish and why?(n)

Good question, but the Bronco doesn't hold a candle to the aesthetics of a Jeep.
You're preaching to the choir. I am wondering why would Ford pull such a stunt?

Probably trying to get a reaction/attention from Jeep, the Jeep community, or Ford Bronco enthusiasts. Seems like they didn't get much of it.

Speed limitation is probably due to the tire type/ratings.

Jeep should have put 35" tires on this car lol, but whatever...the jeep 392 is going to require like premium 93 fuel right? I'm so used to using 87 on the wranglers and whatnot haha
