13,4” APB front brakes kit for stock XTREME RECON 17” wheel

What dimensions of the after-market wheels are important? Diameter >17" or backspacing or something else?
I have no idea ,
perhaps you should ask the maker of the brakes ?

FWIW, Teraflex’s 4 piston caliper and 14” rotor fits the 17” non XR wheels front and back with spacers (prob clears the XR w/o spacers but I don’t know for sure). I imagine the hat shape of the APB two piece rotor combined with caliper dimensions are the issue on the rear (prob why you need a 13.4 on front as well). Teraflex uses a one piece rotor design and likely a lower profile caliper.

Only posting for info, not advocating ones better than the other.

I’m summary, If you have APB front you could run the Teraflex in the rear if desired to get additional braking performance.

Has anyone else looked into different manufacturers like PowerStop. is the Mopar brake upgrade the same as stock on an XR?

Or, if wheels spacers are being used anyway which i'm not a big fan of, might as well get the full APB 14" brake system F/R. I'd sacrifice having spacers for a badass full size APB brakes in ceramic finished. But the price tho, lol.

Are you guys really having issues with stopping power of a XR? Awesome brakes is one of the first things I noticed.

I thought the XR package trucks come with the same brakes as non-XR trucks? I did a quick search around and couldn't find the specs but if that is not true would love to know. Thank you.

They are the same.

I can also confirm my other comment above….

The Teraflex 4 piston front/rear brake kit clears the XR wheels with no need for spacers.

I see a dude making a visual claim on a non-392 XR (I’m sure there are some similarities).
Well that’s frustrating because if seen several other places that made a claim for upgraded brakes. That makes the XR package much less desirable.

For the 392, it’s still a pretty sweet deal IMO. Better looking wheels, bigger tires, 4.56 gears, fender flares, tailgate reinforcement.

Yes definitely, I like the wheels better than stock, the gearing and lift coming with the factory warranty. For what I will be doing don’t think I need anything else. Except maybe some steering strength and stability upgrades. The Clayton springs are still intriguing to me also.

Did they offer custom colors or did you have the bronze painted?
they were offering the bronze at one point. I need to print out their template and see how it works with the 2024XR rims. I would much rather just do the 14' brakes. Again bigger is better.
