=============== Some Information on the Different EBC Rotors / Pad Options

GD Series (Dimpled & Slotted)

Purpose: Performance upgrade for drivers who want better cooling and pad bite than stock, without cracking risk from drilled holes.
  • Dimpled design reduces the chance of rotor cracking under high heat compared to fully drilled rotors.
  • Wide slots help expel gas, dust, and water.
  • Painted hub/edges for corrosion resistance.
Disadvantages:
  • Slightly more brake noise than smooth rotors.
  • Not as aggressive at debris clearing as BSD rotors.

USR Series (Ultra Quiet Sport Slotted)

Purpose: Sporty upgrade that delivers improved cooling with reduced noise—good for daily drivers who want performance without extra sound.
  • Fine, shallow slots reduce wind noise compared to wide slots.
  • Improved wet-weather braking over smooth rotors.
  • Lower dust buildup on pads vs. standard designs.
Disadvantages:
  • Not as effective at extreme heat dissipation as GD or BSD rotors in heavy towing or track use.
  • Less aggressive pad de-glazing compared to BSD.

BSD Series (Blade Sport Disc)

Purpose: High-performance rotor with “V” shaped slots for maximum bite, cooling, and pad de-glazing—ideal for heavy-duty use.
  • Best gas/dust evacuation of the three designs.
  • Maintains pad performance under extreme heat loads.
  • Great for off-road, towing, or repeated hard stops.
Disadvantages:
  • Louder under braking than USR.
  • Faster pad wear compared to smoother slot patterns.

EBC Pad Options

Yellowstuff

Purpose: High-friction brake pad for spirited street and light track/off-road use; works well when cold but thrives under heat.
  • Good cold bite and strong fade resistance at high temps.
  • Ideal for heavier vehicles like the Wrangler 392.
  • Handles repeated hard stops without significant performance loss.
Disadvantages:
  • Slightly more dust than OE pads.
  • Can produce mild squeal when cold until bedded in.

Greenstuff

Purpose: Sport pad for daily driving with low dust and good bite—more performance than stock without sacrificing comfort.
  • Low brake dust compared to most performance pads.
  • Smooth, quiet braking with good initial bite.
  • Great upgrade for daily-driven Jeeps that don’t see repeated heavy braking.
Disadvantages:
  • Not as heat-resistant as Yellowstuff under aggressive use.
  • Will fade faster than Yellowstuff during extended high-load braking.

Always been a fan of EBC from other vehicles but it's been a while. Can you give a rundown on each and it's purpose or adv vs disadv?

They are great, in terms of the Rotors, it depends on your preference for stopping power / budget.

We did the BSDs with the Greenstuff on our 392. I would've done the Yellowstuff if it were in-stock when I ordered the rotors. Common setups are usually the USR + Yellowstuff or GD + Yellowstuff.

Check out the first post, I added some info to help distinguish the differences.
