    Help, Can't Decide Color!

I like granite silver. It's a color that ages well, that is, you won't get tired of it. I believe the dash is granite silver as well, so that's a plus. Living in Florida close to the ocean I tend to stay away from dark colors, because of the heat and because of the salty sludge that coats your...

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

Thanks. That's what I thought. So, swapping out oil pans is not an option, according to New Venture Motorsports; I am not keen on full under body protection; I guess I will wait for some company to offer separate oil pan protection. Fortunately, here in Florida we don't have a lot of rocks to...

    Help, Can't Decide Color!

I prefer Jeep’s Billet Silver. It's a neutral color with a lot of depth; doesn’t attract much attention, and it hides dust and dirt better than most colors. Sting Gray would have been my second choice.

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

Does anyone have an thoughts on how resilient an aluminum oil pan is compared to a stamped steel oil pan, (even without knowing the thicknesses of the two). For example, when struck with a hard object, will an aluminum oil pan tend to crack open, rather than dent, compared to a stamped steel...

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

Did you happen to see a Part Number stamped on your the oil pan when you took the picture? Assuming the bolt patterns are the same on both of our engines, I would be interested in upgrading my oil pan. Thanks.

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

I doubt it. My opinion is based on our recent experience with early 392s arriving with the wrong inner tailgate specifications plate. Jeep corrected this for all 392s built after 21 June with the correct bronze 392 plate and then stated they would not offer any support on this issue for those...

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

Could you please post the Stock Number? My dealership struggles with issues like this. Thanks.

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

Thanks! Not only does your oil pan give you another 1.5” of clearance, your oil plug appears to be tucked out of the way and less likely to get snagged than mine. I guess I will get in line for a new oil pan just like I waited for the correct inner tailgate plate -- still waiting for the rivets.

Exposed Oil Pan and Protruding Oil Pan Plug?

Would you please measure the clearance from the ground to the lowest point of your oil pan? I started this post in August; I measured 13 3/4” from the ground to the bottom of my oil plug, the lowest point on my oil pan. It looks like the lowest point on your oil pan is the bulge around your...

    JL Forum: Why the Hate?

I believe ‘hate” towards 392 owners is just misplaced “envy”. When people ask me “why” I respond with, “why not?” I traded a Challenger Scat Pack for my Rubicon 392 because I love the engine and the power; but I also like sitting tall in traffic, I like not worrying about damaging my front...

Thank you. Yes, you broke the code! Here’s the plate on my other vehicle:

    JL Forum: Why the Hate?

I had the same issue with photos that were “tipped over” after downloading them to the website. I discovered that if you first “save” the photo on your computer before downloading it to the website, the photo will remain upright.

    JL Forum: Why the Hate?

Ditto! I served on active duty for 30 years, starting as an Airman Basic making $500/month. I moved 18 times; lived in 9 different states and 2 foreign countries. I survived 53 rocket attacks and 3 ex wives. I never begrudge anyone who drives a nice vehicle and I’m always quick to complement...

What did you do to your Jeep 392 today?

This is where I mounted my ELEMENT FIre Extinguisher in my other vehicle.
